Duck Dynasty is a dumb show, and I certainly wouldn't turn it on to get philosophical musings on morality and existence. The shite he said a about gays is shortsighted but it's the same tired shite good Christians with values have been saying for a millennia; however, I find his quotes about blacks under Jim Crow to be much more troubling. In the end, 'logical' people don't spew such nonsense; only ignorant rubes do so, and that's why it's not a big deal.

The show is so boring to me. My brain melts a little every time I see it.

I've heard rumors that this is a stunt. Phil was scheduled to leave the show, so these remarks were stayed so that buzz surrounds the show, ultimately resulting in more viewers.

Buying it? Not sure.

That sounds like a terrible rumor someone is saying.

I have seen this shite all over facebook for the past couple of days and it's getting ridiculous..

Some people are starting to say it was the Government trying to hush the Robertsons up b\c of their christian morals and all this other conspiracy theory shite.

People are dumb.

And what did Jesus ever say about homosexuality? Seems his whole thing was about breaking away from the Old Testament folks.

Jesus' whole thing was about breaking away from the Old Testament? Guess I missed that part. Guess I also misunderstood Matthew 5:17 all this time: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them."

For the record the Robertson's are Church of Christ. To label all Christians into one group is nothing short of ignorant. What does an Episcopalian have in common with an Independent Fundamentalist or a Church of Christ with a Methodist? Church of Christ believe they are the only ones going to heaven, not just that Christians are the only ones going to heaven but specifically that only the Church of Christ variety are good. Their son is a Church of Christ evangelist. I mean these people worship without musical instruments, so that ought to tell you how rigid their beliefs are. Shocker, Phil is against homosexuality. The only thing shocking here is that Phil took an interview with GQ in the first place.

Nice, a blanket statement on the Church of Christ.

Those that think CoC are the only ones going to heaven might think worship with instruments is wrong. The rest know it's more of a tradition.

I grew up CoC so I can speak from experience. There are narrow minded people stuck in there ways and very open minded people that realize that they aren't the only ones going to heaven and that musical instruments are ok. Sound much different from an other denomination or non-denominational church?

Well said. I think the "CoC" believes if you do what the bible says you'll go to heaven. Not if you go to their church you're going to heaven.

I don't. Even if A&E drops it, a network like CMT would jump at the chance to pick it up.

Saw it posted elsewhere that they made $44 Million on Duck Call sales alone last year. Or maybe it was all sales from the Duck Commander line. And that the family gets $200k per episode for A&E. They'll gladly walk away from this mess and go back to just selling duck calls and laughing all the way to the bank.

Should bring a homo on the show to rectify (pun intended) the situation. I am sure there are a lot of those guys out there who would like to blow (pun intended) on those calls.

It's definitely a stunt. If it weren't why did they have a whole day of Duck Dynasty episodes yesterday? Don't say it was already scheduled and they didn't have anything to put there. If it were such a big deal, they would have found a way.

Way too much money not to be pre-planned. It is televisions after all. Nothing on TV is real.
