I mean, Muldoon died in the film, but this novel version was cool af.

But Tembo was just a legit badass from the initial dino herd chase scene in The Lost World to him tranquilizing a T. rex when the eco extremist took the bullets out his gun.

Muldoon. He was a badass in the movie as well. It’s just hard to fight raptors in a dense jungle.

Muldoon in the film was a fricking idiot. The first time you see him, he describes how they are highly intelligent, extremely fast pack hunters. So what does he do when he sees one? Focuses on it and doesn't think to look for any of the others. Clever girl my arse. He was just a moron.

He was in a hurry to get to the breakers.

Before it all went down, he wanted all the raptors destroyed.

He wasn't going to the breakers. He was there to keep Ellie safe from the raptors while she walked from the control room to the utility building. His job was specifically to kill any raptors while she turned the power on. He should have immediately been looking for the others when he saw the one.

If we are comparing film Tembo to book Muldoon, Muldoon wins IMO.

But film to film, Tembo and it ain’t close.

Well he had the sense to feel hunted to tell Ellie to run without really seeing one. He was a game warden in Kenya previously. Guess the raptor that got the jump on him was just damn good at it. Regardless, at least the raptor that killed Muldoon died via being one of the two raptors killed by the Tyrannosaurus or being the raptor that got locked in the freezer.

Roland Tembo is one of the best things The Lost World had going for it, and they didn't even give the character a conclusion. Always thought that was really dumb writing wise.

Muldoon getting killed off when he did was probably the biggest (maybe the only) mistake made in an otherwise near-perfect adaptation.

I guess they were worried he was too much of a badass and audiences wouldn't think Ellie was in danger if he was with her.

Muldoon’s family only gets a 12 million dollar wrongful death settlement when the “blood sucking lawyer’s” family gets 30+ million as seen in this deleted Lost World scene: LINK

He knew he wasn’t going to win. As someone pointed out, even if he shot one, the animals had dug a low metabolism rate, shooting one might kill it, but it will take a long time for it to die. This was established in the book. I think Muldoon didn’t expect the raptor that got him to be as silent as it was. That’s a 6 foot creature that got pretty close before it revealed itself. Anyway, raptors are nocturnal.

Probably because Genarro didn’t work for InGen while Muldoon did.

Probably also since Gennaro was a lawyer, his family were also able to get a good lawyer to push for a good settlement

Yeah as someone else said, it’s in the TV version and I agree. Also wish they would have done the river scene in the first movie
