Its hard to claim any film as "The Best...." because the thing that makes films so great is how they can differ and appeal to so many people.
That being said, i LOVED Whiplash. I think because of the uniqueness of the plot. Very interesting to have such a serious and tense film over a band member vs a director.
I think we can 100% owe this to the actors that played those roles.

And the director had a point.
