The wire aint the best show ever, but that being said, its still a great show. Just because someone gives it another chance who didnt like it before doesnt mean they are caving and liking it because they want to fit in lol. I didnt like lost at first but then i gave it a second chance and it became one of my all time favorites. I wouldnt watch any of it while the season was on TV, due to my work schedule and no tivo, so i could go out and buy the whole season when it came out on dvd.

It's just too slow moving for me.

Omar dont care if you like him. Omar gon do what Omar gon do. Never said you have shitty taste bro lol. You aint gotta like every show everybody else likes. Even though it is a superb show. When i found out "Bunk" was from Louisiana i came to love it even more.

The only thing that makes this board jizz harder than Chris Nolan is The Wire. I never got into it.

I've enjoyed Blood and Sand and Gods of the Arena more than Vengeance which I'm currently in. I liked them better as slaves I guess. I also liked the first Spartacus waaaay better.

breaking bad is a great series.
Others I rank up there...
The wire- I actually think it is one of the best series made.
Lost- If you haven't seen it, it is something not to be missed.
Battlestar Galactica- Another very solid show.
There are others. I recently started watching friday night lights, but it is second level. Honestly, the first two seasons of heroes were great.
Other shows I thought were good are homeland, once upon a time, suits, justified, and I thought jericho as well.
I'm sure there are a few I am forgetting...

I watched a few episodes as they originally aired but just didn't get into it. After seeing all the praise it gets here I went back and watched it start to finish and it is a great show. I still don't see it as hands down the best show ever though. I'll rank the first two seasons of Deadwood and the first season of Rome higher just from HBO alone.

I think watching Mad Men makes me feel like everything else is on fast foward.
I decided to start it up last night after seeing it get a lot of praise not just here but with friends and I finally have the time to get into another show. I just finished at ep. 4 in Season 1 and I'm pretty well hooked.

Not knocking the show AT ALL. But I sometimes wonder if all of those who go back and give the wire another shot and then love it are living it because they are SUPPOSED to love it. Seems to be a reoccurring statement on here. It's like you are persecuted "shitty taste in television" by normally good posters if it's not THE GREATEST SHOW EVER.
