but the actual war portion of this movie kinda sucked

I appreciated the attempt to capture the battle for Hue City. It was different from the traditional jungle combat scenes of other Viet Nam movies.

Being a former graduate of Paris Island, it was a pretty accurate depiction of boot camp.

1. Come and See
2. The Thin Red Line

the rest...meh

all other war movies are glorified hero worshiping, everythings-gonna-be-okay! moral victory circlejerk fests.

at least the two above have the balls to show the horror and complex psychology involved.

"Patton" was a great War Movie though it was not completely accurate. At least it got most of it's facts straight.

"The Thin Red line" was by far the worse war movie ever made. It was simply horrible from beginning to end. Anyone knowing even a smidgen of facts about WW2 would know it was a complete and utter fabrication. Of course it was based on a Novel by James Jones so what could you expect, then further perverted by Hollywood types with an agenda that completely ignored reality.

If you saw the movie then it should be readily apparent.

Agree with Superior Pariah... COME AND SEE.... watched it the other night and was blown away... my father served in Vietnam and I got him to watch it too... He said he has seen no other war flick that captures the true 'horror' of war like this film.
