I recently brought this up in a thread about a guy asking how good Game of Thrones is.
We broke up about two months before S4 and by the time it began to air, I couldn't bring myself to watch GoT any longer. I had associated the series with her so much. She was the only reason I ever watched it. I don't think I had any idea what the premise of GoT was before meeting her and the broad genre of GoT is something that vastly does not appeal to me generally.
But I soldiered on and got over her and decided that she wasn't going to prevent me from one of the series that has brought me the most enjoyment in all of fiction. I watched S4 a few months later.

The only shows I watch because of my SO are Archer and The League.
Whereas he has to watch (because of me) are GoT, SV, and HGTV
. FWIW he doesn't mind HGTV because of Christina and Joanna.
