If the ending of "Dead Poet's Society" doesn't get you, I don't know what does. Still one of the best scenes in film history, IMO.

I'll be honest. I was never moved to tears as a child watching a movie. Now as an adult I have welled up twice. TWD Season 2 Episode 7 and GOT Season 6 Episode 5. Maybe because I can't get vested in a character in a 2-2 1/2 hour movie like I can in a series. Perhaps I'm just getting soft in my old age.

There was an episode of bay watch where this kid had a midget dad and all his classmates made fun of him (the dad). Broke my heart at 6 years old that someone would be so mean.

My Girl when Veda tells Thomas Jay's mom that her mother will take care of him in heaven. That hit me hard.

Ole Yeller when he has to be put down

And the ending to Dot and the Kangaroo... When the Kangaroo hops away and Dot keeps crying come back kangaroo...come back.

I was looking for that Dot clip, but here's a kid watching it, with the emotion I had:

Came here to say this. My wife teases me about getting choked up about that scene, TO THIS DAY. Can't deal with dead ET. I can't even.

The last half of Marley and Me. But I was a grown-up

My wife was a complete wreck during the last third of Marley and Me.

We're walking out of the movie and she's saying over and over through tears "why would you bring me to this???"

Where the Red Fern Grows. I read that book again almost once a year. It's a way to stay connected to my rapidly fading childhood. I fricking cry like a baby every damn time.

Of course I cried at the end of Ol Yeller too. I haven't watched it since.

And frick Marley and Me, I ain't even going to watch it.

What is it about animals dying that hits so hard, but I can watch people get shot in movies by the thousands and not even flinch? Hell, I was watching a show on honey badgers on Animal Planet last night and the HB killed a new born antelope fawn. I almost had to turn that shite off.

Other movies:
The end of Shane is pretty tough.
