Would be great to see Matt Mercers Vox Machina Campaign adapted to an animated series. You can have the voice actors play their own parts..thats a fricking win right there.

Critical Role goes between 3-5 hours an episode and they're almost 130 episodes in. Plus, they would REALLY have to tone down the language to make it PG-13.

In all seriousness though, you could make a series based on each of the major campaigns:

Well of Dragons
The Storm King
House of Strahd
Taldorei (Critical Role)
Neverwinter (MMO and the Neverwinter Nights series)

Steven Erikson’s Malazan series has the type of mainstream appeal that could be successful. He’s got plenty of the same elements that make the GoT series so popular, including those just gut wrenching moments where everyone doesn’t get a happy ending. Plenty of fresh material to explore that hasn’t really been done before. The Warrens magic and elder races are a much different take than what’s shown on TV. Dude won’t let his intellectual property get gutted though for a quick payday.
