One of my favorite movies of all time.
Also a good one.

"I am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang". I couldn't go to sleep one night and stumbled across this one.

So is that your top 6 all-time?

It's something of a favorite for me too. Music history buffs will be interested in its portrait of a touring band pre-WWII.
And it offers a very rare opportunity to see Elia Kazan as an actor.

Every time one of these types of threads pop up, I am surprised that Gunga Din is not mentioned. Maybe I am the only one who likes it
FWIW it was the fave film of the late screenwriter Wm (Butch Cassidy) Goldman

This was the shocker of the thread for me
And then to see it recommended here on TD...

When a movie is 50 years old I think it's pretty fair to call it a classic.

The Ghost and Mrs Muir
I remember watching that with my parents and really liking it. Also the ending where she joins him really hits me in the feels.

Surprised nobody mentioned Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Or maybe they did and I missed it.
Another to add: Night of the Hunter. Bob Mitchum's murderous vagabond preacher is my all-time favorite villain.

Seriously, I'd heard of this movie (my mama done told me about it
