Only 3 episodes in, and I’m dying laughing at this show. I’ve heard good things, but it’s fricking hilarious. Extremely depressing it’s only 8 episodes.

Is the movie any good?

You should have watched the movie first.

Haven't watched the series, but we thought the movie was awful. Just watched it about 6 months ago. We could be victims of the hype, after all these years, though. Barely watchable, IMO.

The movie is a top 5 comedy. I’m almost suprised someone is into the show without loving the movie or seeing it first

And BTW Netflix made 2 of those seasons, one was a prequel and another was a sequel. Stop watching which ever one you are watching and go watch the movie, it will make the show soooo much funnier

Oh damn. I think I’m just going to finish the series, watch the movie, then rewatch the series.

Definitely.

Probably the best joke in that season (re: puberty) isn't nearly as funny if you're not familiar with the character from the movie.

Prequel season was really good, movie was great, sequel season was meh.

Absolutely should have watched the movie first. There's tons of inside jokes and call backs that you're gonna miss. The sequel season was funny but I think the original and the prequel are far more hilarious.

The movie is funny for a lot of reasons but one of the biggest is that most of the cast had yet to reach their prime movie careers. If you watch it knowing that it was filmed in 2001, you can start to see it less as a bunch of popular actors being stupid and more as a bunch of young actors and Christopher Meloni being stupid

Agree that it should be watched in the order it was released. So movie, prequel series, sequel series.

Also agree that the movie is great, prequel season is not as great, sequel season is less great (though I liked all of them though).

I don't get how the season(s) are funny at all without having seen the movie first. That was kinda the whole point.

Okay so I watched the movie last night.

It was very very very meh. Pretty disappointing. The first 3 episodes I watched were still hilarious standing alone without me watching the movie. I’m going to restart the series and see what I missed obviously.

But yeah. That movie wasn’t very good.

And also. It’s a good thing I didn’t go in correct order, because there’s no way in hell I’d watch the series if I’d seen the movie first. So hooray for thinking outside the box!!!

I attempted to watch the movie a few months back and struggled to keep it on. Finally couldn't take anymore of the bad acting and formulaic plot and turned it off. Not the least bit interested in the series.

It's like he's never heard of camp before.

( a campy camp movie. Never connected that before. This movie is the gift that keeps on giving.)
