Westworld mostly sucks this season

I loved the first season but it's hard to follow and kind of all over the map in Season 2. It's been fairly disappointing and I find myself having trouble getting through most of the episodes.
Anyone else feel this way?

I haven't seen the second season yet, but the first season was highly overrated on this board in my opinion.
It was just rambling, and the dialogue pretended to be philosophical, but was really just dull.
Looked great though.

I thought that season 1 had an interesting story line that I really hadn't seen before in tv. This season is much worse.
I don't think I've made it through most of the episodes without getting distracted with something else

I wouldn’t say it sucks...it just isn’t all that good. Pulling a True Detective seasons 2 so far with trying to have too many characters and story lines that all weave into one.

I liked season 1 but you need to remember it wasn't easy to get from point A to Z.
They stopped the filming and went on hiatus as they had to rewrite several episodes.
With the way season 1 ended, I wasn't sure they had much of an idea where to take the show.
Given the lukewarm reviews I've read, I think my fears were warranted.
I think some of the plots moved a bit too fast in season 1 and they weren't fleshed out enough.
I'm still going to watch and I've avoided all spoilers but I'll wait until the finale to get HBO and binge the show over a weekend.

Yeah, this was my fear with Stranger Things as well, and while Stranger Things Season 2 is inferior, it gives me enough faith that they can roll with this concept for a few more seasons. Nothing Westworld is currently doing is giving me any faith that you can keep this ball rolling for a while.
The biggest problem with Westworld now is most of the characters suck. You got rid of Anthony Hopkins who was the glue holding the series together and you only have two characters you can identify with: Bernard and MIB/William. Save for Lucas, I like all the characters in Stranger Things or rightfully despise them as the show intends. It's just aimless, and Shogun World, or India World, or Knight World just isn't going to do it.
If they want to go the Blade Runner route, they need to get there quickly, because the only host I can sympathize with is the one almost no one else knows is a host.

I enjoyed the first 3 episodes of this season. However, I'm baffled by how a robot could be angry. Anger is an emotion/feeling. AI has nothing to do with emotions.

Every episode this season, minus the week before last I have fell asleep watching. (The one where William is trying to bring back Mr Delos) Most of it is just slow and uninteresting. They’re killing off 2 episode characters that you don’t even care about and the hosts are just robots, so who cares if they die. MIB is the only character interesting and worth a shite at this point.

Exactly. Some Asian chick died in Sunday's episode (which we watched tonight) and my wife looked at me and said "Who just died?"

its sort of getting like "house of cards". just too many plot points that are all getting convoluted. and dolores is reaching dana brody levels of suck.

This season feels like they are setting up a ton of shite that will get revealed in Ep. 9/10. Unfortunately I think everything before then is mostly going to be filler.

I haven’t watched episode 5 from Sunday, but I’ve enjoyed the first 4 more than the first season.

Episodes 2 and 4 were very good. I just hope that the last three episodes do a good job of tying everything in together so it all makes perfect sense.
