'Weapons' director Zach Cregger says he's written a script for a film in the DCU

Then there's the one that's been getting attention online: Henchmen, a potential DC Studios movie that he's called the favorite script he's ever written, and which he penned before his 2022 breakout, Barbarian.
According to sources, Henchmen would center on a low-level henchman in the Gotham crime world who gains notoriety after managing to incapacitate Batman through a stroke of luck.
The Dark Knight could appear briefly in the movie, while Harley Quinn and Joker are in the project as well. Cregger has not yet pitched it to DC Studios, though the company is said to be aware of his interest.
But even with Cregger being one of the most in-demand filmmakers in town, like any IP swing, Henchmen faces several hurdles.
DC Studios hasn't yet cast a Joker or a Batman. (Harley Quinn, theoretically but probably not, could still be played by James Gunn's The Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie.)
And DC bosses Gunn and Peter Safran likely want to be careful with anything Batman-related while they allow The Batman filmmaker Matt Reeves to make The Batman Part II, and perhaps even a Batman Part III. There's no telling what villains would factor into that one, so Gunn and Safran don't want to step on his toes and double up on villains for their universe. (A fun aside: The Batman II is now gearing up for a spring shoot. But first, Robert Pattinson plans on filming a role in Dune: Part III.)
As for Cregger, he's aware none of these grand plans may even be possible unless he pulls off Resident Evil first.
That script, written with Shay Hatten, takes inspiration from the games, rather than the previous seven movies in the franchise. It's a relatively contained thriller, according to one person who has read it, and features its protagonist on a desperate mission to get from one point to another, with plenty of zombies in the way.

A properly done movie based on any of the first 4 resident evil games would be damn good
The DC henchman thing is slightly interesting I guess
Still think the biggest slam dunk in video game movies would be an adaption of Half-Life

Sounds like "The Man Who Killed Batman" episode of Batman: The Animated Series.
