Black Jack Randall might just be the most evil man I’ve ever seen in a television show.

Is this show good? I tried to start watching it, but it felt like a grocery store romance novel.

Women love this show. I hope you've stocked up on Vitamin E, because the old lady is gonna want to bone you left and right after watching.

Also, it has deservedly earned the nickname "Rapelander" for its constant use of raping everyone under the sun for character and plot development.

It's basically that, although the first season is a little more rapey than what I hope grocery store romance novels are. We watched for a few seasons but only got through the first episode last season and haven't re-visited.

i enjoy it for the set pieces and history. if Highlander era Scotland or America in the 1770's pre war is interesting to you, it's worth a watch.

There is a bit of rape and needless nudity (if that's not your thing.) i don't watch it out of pure entertainment purposes, but I've watched worse things for my wife and got laid less.

My wife and I are big fans. Like you, I really enjoy the historical aspect of the show. They do a nice job of intertwining history and fictional character to make it appear that these people actually played a part in fulfilling what happened. As you also said, the settings, culture wardrobe is fantastic.

There is certainly a "Harlequin Romance" aspect to the show but enough red meat for a dude to enjoy.

I like it, it's got a good overall story, quality acting and cinematography. Season 4 finished a few months ago and I think it was probably the weakest season though. I mean its definitely geared to women but there are some pretty good fight scenes and as mentioned, a pretty nuts bad guy that you will hate with a passion. Decent amount of sex scenes in there but they are all from the same two people. So you're like ok let's mix this up a little bit.

I think if it was on HBO it would be much more popular.

At the risk of giving a slight spoiler in S4, I thought Roger's story dragged on a bit long. The way he acted towards Brianne I didn't quite like. I thought the initial conversation he and Jamie had was needed for being a goober.

Watched until the final episode of season 1 and quit that shite midway through the episode. I’m not interested in watching that shite.

Just watched the last half of S1 Ep2 (wife had it on) and didn't get any of the rape stuff people are talking about. For just seeing 1/2 an episode it seemed interesting.

The tale of a woman that travelled 200 years back in time to cheat on her husband.

Season 2 is pretty good.

i think the rape stuff is pretty exclusive to season 1 as far as being graphic. it's happened a couple of times since then, but been much less.

this is going to sound funny, but in a show that has nudity, they've kept it pretty much to the main actress for a while... then she has a daughter who comes of age and they decide she needs a nude scene and i'm all "nope. i saw her as a child."

I didn’t want to see Arya and I didn’t want to see Brianna.

Albeit Brianna I’ve only known as an adult actress.

Just finished Season One.

Not sure I've ever hated a character so much, TV or Movie.

I hate when this dude is on the screen.

The actor who plays him is phenomenal.

Pure hatred and evil.
