However my main complaint was Emily blunts character and her token black friend were pointless to the movie. They literally served no purpose and were annoying as shite

You may have a point with the black friend. But to say Emily Blunt's character didn't have a point is retarded and shows that the movie went right over her head. None of the movie happens with her character. She annoyed the frick out of me, so she accomplished her job, she was supposed to do that.

The great performance by Benecio? He wasn't bad, but he didn't do shite as far as acting range goes. He's emotionless and has like 7 lines.

LOL no you don't. That is completely false. El Paso is the safest city with a population above 500,000 people in the United States. To say gunfire hits buildings in the United States is a blatant lie.

That's sensationalized journalism back in 2010 when they rhetoric was supposed to support our borders are porous and crime is pouring across. That isn't the reality. I can personally assure you of that. Like I said I've lived here for the last 5 almost 6 years now. El Paso is the best city in the United States in my opinion.

You should keep your mouth shut regarding matters which you clearly have no clue.

quote:

Paso residents say they're accustomed to hearing gunfire across the border in Juarez, Mexico, and won't be taking any additional safety measures after a woman shopping in the West Texas city was struck by one of the bullets.

The first bullets struck El Paso's city hall at the end of a work day. The next ones hit a university building and closed a major highway.

Shootouts in the drug war along the U.S.-Mexico border are sending bullets whizzing across the Rio Grande into one of the nation's safest cities, where authorities worry it's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt or killed.

quote:

As many as 12 buildings have been struck by bullets coming across the border in recent months

EL PASO, Texas - A woman shopping on a busy downtown El Paso street became the first victim of bullets flying across the border from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, on Tuesday when she was hit in the calf and wounded, authorities said.

Live in El Paso my arse

All of those articles are from 2010-2012 and are meant to fit a narrative and are simply sensational journalism. That isn't the reality. I can pay an illegal $5 to say the same things or the opposite whatever fits my narrative I'm pushing.

You're either lying or completely oblivious to the goings on in your town.

I've lived in in various parts of Texas my whole life, including EL Paso for 6 months. Yes, the city is safe. Nobody is disputing that. To say that hearing gunfire and bullets flying over the border never happens is just not true though. I could hear gunfire pretty regularly living right near the border.

Lol whut?

You claimed that it was a lie bullets came from across the border and landed in the us. You have been presented with links proving this to have happened. Whether or not the incidents were blown out of proportion to fit an agenda is beside the point. Now politely frick off.

So your claim is that all those stories are purely fabricated, despite pictures and personal interviews and police/FBI reports all verifying the events?

That's a bold claim

If I see an FBI report showing this maybe I'll begin to believe it. This is sensational journalism at its finest. The lady who got shot from "across the border" that might be true, but more realistically she was inadvertently struck by a bullet that came from a Southern direction in the United States near the border. However to fit the narrative it was from a carjacking/gunfight/ASSAULT rifle in Juarez.

Strange that something like that would happen in the safest city in the US (as you claimed.)

Regardless to base your feelings towards a fictionalized movie about your supposed knowledge of the goings in El Paso is just downright dumb.

From 2014...

The city of El Paso has ranked as the safest city in America for the fourth year in a row.

The ranking is based off of crimes rates for U.S. cities with populations over 500,000. The study was completed by CQ Press, a independent research firm. The company has constantly ranked the city of El Paso among the top three safest cities since 1997.

I really enjoyed the movie, was a great theatre expericne and kept me on my toes the entire time. The score was amazing. Emily Blunt character was extremely key to the movie.

I've lived in El Paso for the past 5 years and the entire Juarez thing is entirely fabricated.

I can't speak much for El Paso, but I would not say the entire Juarez thing is fabricated. My wife (no pics) family is from Juarez. She still has two uncles and tons of cousins that live in Juarez. They visit from time to time, actually had dinner with one this week that is visiting. They certainly don't paint it as fabricated.

While the murder rates have declined in recent years-still think they had between 500-600 each of the past two years. I know the declining rate has a lot to do with the success of the Sinola cartel taking control, so we will see what happens with ole El Chapo in custody now. But place is still pretty freaking rough.

They always ask us to visit, but I'm not trying. Haha
