And I still picked up on things I hadn't seen or quite heard correctly. I know a lot of posters on here are pretty critical of the newer films, but I think this film is phenomenal! I know he wanted to end his "007 status" but I hope Daniel Craig renews that bad arse contract offer.

Here's some Vesper for your time:

Outside of the ridiculous poker scene, i don't think i have heard much criticism of Casino Royal. It was pretty universally well received

After watching it I didn't really hate on the poker scene that much. Yes, it was a little far fetched to have a stairwell fight end with two deaths and then a heart attack scene following with virtually no interruption. But I think it was necessary to show the desperation from Le Chiffre. And maybe it's just me but...spoilers...i never picked up on how Mathis was with Le Chiffre until last night haha. Probably because his character had zero appeal to me and I vaguely paid attention to his antics when he was on the screen.

Daniel Craig is a great Bond. He just happens to not be in any good Bond movies. At least it wasn't as bad as Quantom of Solace.

I have seen it but a long time ago and only once (obviously I'm someone who needs multiple viewings to understand everything). Didn't like the movie much which prob led to the not following close enough attention.

Despite all the hate I've seen of Quantom on here, I might still watch it again to clear it up. All the bond movies are entertaining despite some being awful. Some are just more eye appealing with the action versus the story line. Casino got it all IMO.

Yes I think that was answered in QOS when Bond went to Mathis's home. What I still to this day don't get is in CR right after the poker game ends and he and Vesper are dining and she gets a call from Mathis and leaves, Bond suddenly suspects Mathis for giving up his tell. I've seen nothing to indicate that Mathis in any way was on Le Chiffre's side.

I think people are more talking about the actual hands that were played in the poker scenes. The chances of those hands happening are borderline impossible. It would've been much better for someone to win with like two pair and a higher kicker.

Regardless, though, Vesper's tits in that movie are the GOATs, period.

No, my beef with the poker scene isn't the fight. It's that each player gets world beating hands

That freerunner he has a foot chase with at the beginning is grade A badass.

She doesn't get a call from Mathis; she lied. This is further reinforced when she gets a text from the one eyed man in Italy and tells bond it's his "employer".
