I love this movie. It is infinitely rewatchable to me. I look forward to every Memorial Day and Veteran's Day so I can watch it again. For some reason, I took a special note of Joan Leslie who played Gary Cooper's love interest, Gracie.

She's the plucky, next door neighbor, hot girl. She reminds me a lot of the AT&T girl. Anyway, love the movie. Here are some pics:

Her bio says she retired from acting in 1950, married a doctor, and raised some kids. They are all doctors now.

I love this movie. I heard that Gary Cooper got to talk with Alvin York and hear how he struggled with joining the army with his new found religion and in the end decided that it was the right thing to do.

I recorded this yesterday because I had never seen it, but I know York's incredible story and how great of a film it is. Can't wait to watch it

Great movie. Watched it many times when I was a kid.

And it's sergeant.

He was thinking of a different Sargent and York.

Fun fact - York didn't actually use a Luger during his infamous engagement, but rather a 1911 .45. They used a Luger in the movie because they couldn't shoot blanks out of a 1911.
