You just described Psycho. That a B movie too?

It’s not the names that piss us off. It’s the fricking hypocrisy that pervades social media and MSM. Wearing a cap that supports the current President is considered hate speech on many campuses across the country. PC culture is destroying America.

Uhm... Janet Leigh wasn't a star? What is your definition?

Anthony Perkins was also already a very well-known, Oscar-nominated actor.

Kind of like Lupita Nyongo.

There's no such thing as a B movie anymore. Especially not when said accused B movie is released into 3,500+ theaters.

Can't wait to see it next weekend

You seem like a bitch. Do you look like a bitch?

I think I want to go see this with a mostly black audience and talk real loud to the screen.

The twist ruined the movie.

Neither would be considered A list stars at the time. Sorry you think Us is an inferior, “B” movie. Your loss.

Friday the 13th
Nightmare on Elm St
Halloween
28 days later
Jeepers Creepers
The Hills Have Eyes

A few had a couple recognizable actors, but none were A-listers at the time the movie was made

Also, Perkins was a notable actor before Psycho, Leigh was far from an A-lister before Psycho

As a side note: Did you guys know Perkins' wife was killed on one of the 9-11 flights?

I just said B movies don't exist, and that I can't wait to see the movie. Some of you guys don't even frickin read the posts you respond to.

Even if you won't call Janet Leigh an A-lister (even though the shock of Psycho was predicated on the idea of killing an A-lister less than half way through the movie), calling Psycho a B movie also ignores that Alfred Hitchcock was one of the most recognized and famous people in Hollywood.

My point was that the criticisms of Us by the poster I quoted could all be said about Psycho which is clearly not a B movie since it’s one of the greatest films ever made. Therefore, Us is not a B movie. Please gain some reading comprehension skills before posting in the future.

horror genre

It being a horror movies doesn't automatically make it a B movie...not with the budget it had.

quote:

blood and gore

Which was pretty tame for a so-called "B movie." Again, blood and gore doesn't make a movie a B movie.

,no A listers

Just Academy Award Winner Lupita Nyong'o

In summary, every horror movie is a B-movie, I guess.

I don't know how you could believe that. Without the twist, the film falls apart.

One can make a good horror film without a twist or that twist per say...

The logic of the two characters completely falls apart.

Adel has a soul, clones according to Red, have no soul.

Young Adel(the clone) is shown to be aware of who she is.

Red could just as easily escape as Adel, being the original isn’t tethered to movement. As shown.

The government in charge would more likely chase down the clone after realization (and killing a family, a black family of 3 no less) than allowing a potential leak of their experiment.

That’s the tip of the iceberg...it can be further broken down.

The movie was well made, very good performances, etc...but Peele felt the need for a Hitchcockian twist.

There was no need.

If this was film 5 by Peele and not film 2, it would get a little backlash.

Great movie, besides the twist.

We saw it yesterday. I didn't pick up on any racial or social message, all I picked up on was a movie that seems like it was written by an 8 year old. How long are we all supposed to pretend that Jordan Peele has a goddamn clue how to write a movie?

What specific issues did you have with the writing of this film?

That’s not what privilege is. It just means that the same moves take a little less effort for folks who are more privileged.

The pacing of the story and the story itself didn't really make any sense. There's a clone for everybody living underground quietly then all of a sudden they decide to put on red jumpsuits and pop up to kill all their counterparts then hold hands across America...alrighty
