I'm so fricking stoked for the show. Especially when they recently announced it won't be as action packed.
YES! Get rid of that JJ Abrams shite and give us slow burn, thoughtful Star Trek again.

Until they cancel The Good Fight, CBS can get fricked.

Sir Patrick Stewart was the best casting call made in TV sci-fi history with only Edward James Olmos as it's equal.

If they put it in the "JJ Trek" universe which is what I'm hearing then I'm going to be very disappointed. I read about a month or so ago that this was going to be a "Picard" with baggage somewhat based on the events after the Destruction of Romulus and Vulcan which is part of the JJ Trek universe which I hope is not the case.
I truly hope they get away from these attempts to rewrite the entire Trek Universe and pick things up 25 years after the events of Star Trek Voyager: Endgame and get back to the original canon and not these damned alternative timelines.
Picard is one of the most beloved characters in the Trek Universe and I hope Sir Patrick doesn't allow that iconic role become cheapened.

On Prime outside the US, but on CBS All Access here. Also from the article:

In the U.S., the series will be available exclusively on CBS All Access, CBS’ direct-to-consumer digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service, which is available on all major digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video Channels and Fire TV.

He won't be the captain though. Which is odd to me

Similar to the deal that CBS did with Netflix for Discovery. Netflix put up a ton of money to cover some of the production costs, and they got the overseas distribution rights.
Warner does the same with their DC Universe shows. They're delayed and released internationally on Netflix.

So we have to pay for CBS all access to watch it and can't see it on Prime. Screw them.

shite. I was stoked too.
Won’t get CBS All Access though. Not even Picard is worth it.
