this episode feels more like original Twin Peaks

Just finished. Better from a moving the plot along standpoint but pretty underwhelming. This show just isn't very intwresting or good

I'm sorry but this was the best episode since the finale. I clapped out loud. This was Twin Peaks.

the only thing is that Diane was such a b**** for no reason

I'm just happy as hell about that episode. I'm sure it won't necessarily follow that trend, but it was brilliant. I love bad Coop, and watching Coop take out the dwarf was incredible. He's there. He's in there. We finally got a glimpse.

hopefully that means he's closer to returning; I'm surprised Ben Horne remembered the exact room # where Cooper was last seen

That scene where Andy was waiting for the guy who never showed up while the music from the original show was playing in the background was my favorite scene from the entire episode and not a word of dialog was said.
This was definitely the best episode thus far.

That 3 minute scene if the guy sweeping the floor was epic.

It's almost like Lynch just feels compelled to frick with us. Like "here's a gift of a great episode, now you have to watch this dude sweep for 5 minutes".

Dude yes. Serious goosebumps. I think Lynch knows how many people are longing for that old TP feel and is just teasing us with a slow, sporadic reintroduction of the familiar TP things.
I saw a theory online somewhere about this being 2 seasons in 1 - 1st 9 episodes are all groundwork and foundation setting up the return while Coop finds himself, and the last 9 are all the return itself. All roads converge back in TP and we get the familiar things in full force.

that sounds likely, just hope at the end they either wrap it up or know another season is possible so they don't leave any loose ends out there

am i the only one who thought they heard Josie Packard's voice last night?

I am a huge fan of the original and watched it as a kid on it's first run bc my mom and sister watched it after 90210. I am going to have to force myself to get through this "return" season. I just don't find it interesting at all.
It's like at ABC, Lynch had to tone down the "Lynch-ness" for the network and to keep sponsors, etc. This gave it that cohesive arcing plot you wouldn't originally get from him directing.
Now that he is on cable, and premium cable at that, it's turned into a pure Lynch-fest.
And while I'm a huge fan of David Lynch and his movies, part of what made Twin Peaks great was the it was a procedural cop murder mystery at heart with a Lynchian-twist. Now it's just like, how far can he go into his Lynchsanity and still use the TP characters. Has been a shite show IMO.

there's a few episodes you can probably skip as they really added little to nothing in the overall scheme of things

God damn... Lynch totally delivered. I was sceptical about this coming back at first. The chromatics song at the end of episode 1 was so fricking perfect. When the credits started to roll I broke down. Lynch is at his best.

It gets worse episode 1 is probably the best

bump. apparently tonight's episode is a doozy (lots of cryptic tweets from cast members saying it will blow your mind"
