Why didn't Bill warn the higher up vamps about Marny/Antonia?
I wondered this as well. Also, how far reaching is this spell? Just the vamps in Bon Temps? Louisiana? The US??? I am not clear on that. Would be interesting if all vamps on earth got killed off except for the Louisiana group, but I guess that would f-up alot of future plans.
Also, (and I know this has been discussed) but how the hell is Bon Temps so close to Shreveport? There are no swamps or yats near Shreveport...

not trying to hijack but this was part of my question in the other true blood thread i started...the landscape on the show is somewhat inaccurate to the area it is supposed to be set in, no?

So why not recruit him and give him a beginner level position first? That's like if we voted someone for president who had NEVER held a political office in their entire life!
Maybe it was one of those things where by killing the queen, he could lay claim to her throne.

I sure hope that Jess gets saved. It would be a shame for her character to die before we get a chance to see those naked big ol' ginger titays

That's actually not a bad idea. Perhaps vampires are smarter than humans.

A. They've said it's not a real place and the location jumps around a bit.
B. They've said it's about an hour from Shreveport and there are plenty of swamps/bayous within that range.
The first season we kept trying to guess where it was and they kept changing it up on us.

did you watch the episode? he said he was 175.
I couldn't remember the number, geeez I was close though!
But wasn't he changed by that psycho woman during the civil war when he was on his way home to his family? That would only make him around 150. Still old, but you would think he would know his own age. Maybe he forgot his age long ago an was throwing out a ballpark figure.
Jess better not die. She is by far the hottest woman on there.

The Civil War ended 146 years ago (1865). If he was 29 then, he would be 175 now.

Jason likely shot the guard. Jessica likely won't die. Even if she does go out in the sun, she is a very young vampire and has a higher tolerance for the sun. They have stated that a vampire's age is a major factor in death by exposure to sunlight. She won't burn up as fast as Godric unless they change the rules as they go (which they already do w/ the vampire blood rules). Hell, maybe Jason finally turns into a fricking panther and takes out the guard silently before rushing in to save the day (there's a pun in there somewhere).

The area that it is filmed in is clearly no where in Louisiana. It's kind of like how where Dukes of Hazzard was filmed is nothing like Georgia. Clearly somewhere in California.
Bon Temps would be between Monroe and Shreveport. I think Simsboro was pretty close to where it would be located.

Filming locations
Fangtasia = long beach, ca
Merlotte's = Warner Bros studio lot
Some scenes in Louisiana, but most in California.
To me if you look at the flora and the topography it is obviously not Louisiana.

True, but in the full moon episode, Sookie and Jason are in the woods of Bon Temps and the werewolfs are in Shreveport, but they were able to find each other in the woods???
Or in the Sook/Eric sex scene, Alcide and woman just took a stroll to find them in the woods going at it...Seems they are much closer than an hour.

The pack was out in the woods, not IN Shreveport. Just seemed like it was one of those television coincidences.

Yeah, I guess in a movie with shape shifters, vampires, werewolf people, and were-panters I shouldn't try to rationalize anything.

I agree and I like the idea of Jason turning into a panther and saving Jess so hopefully that happens.

yeah, the were pack being in the woods around Bon Temps was bugging me. Bon Temps is an hour from Shreveport, yet Sookie is strolling around Jason's house with a shotgun and runs across Debbie and Alcide. I was like, "What, were's can't find woods around Shreveport to shift in? They have to drive all the way to Bon Temps for their pack meetings? C'mon!"
My take on Bon Temps location is south of 1-20, closer to Monroe than Shreveport but somewhere between them, where Bon Temps, Monroe, and Shreveport would make a triangle.
Ginger, as usual, cracks me up. If she's in a scene, there is gonna be some screaming! I love Lafayette, too. "He coulda just TOLD me." Ha!
I didn't get why the vamps who had the option (basically everyone by Bill and the sheriffs) didn't just leave the state. The edict was leave the state or bind yourself with silver, your choice. Everyone seemed to choose silver (or nothing, like Mrs Fortenberry's neighbor). I would have high-tailed it Arkansas or something...

When they originally talked about her making the Vamps walk into the daylight I seem to remember Luis mentioning it was every Vamp in a 20 mile area.
