Looking at the show description on Cox it looks like SFP may get his wish of crime.
With the introduction out of the way I'm looking foward to this one.

Yeah I'm going to keep watching this show bc it is set in new orleans but that is pretty much the only thing keeping me going

i'm giving it a chance b/c of its creator
but i really do question what will be interesting about the show to keep me wanting to watch after the first 4-5 episodes

Maybe if they eliminate all references to jazz music and post-Katrina New Orleans, plus throw in one or two murders per episode, we can convince JerseyTiger and SFP that it's worth a watch.

Yeah I'm curious to see what story(s) develop because the premier just introduced characters. I thought the first episode was really good and I'm already a big fan of Clarke Peters' character.

I am big David Simon fan, but the early talk said this thing does not rock until the third show, so you may have to be patient, at least for another week.

my Charter premiums and On Demand is down so I'll have to try to catch Bill Maher, Pacific, and Treme in my hotel rooms this week

That's what I read too, still looking forward to tonight though. Always takes a few episodes for me to know who is who and start to know the characters.

i'm really pulling for this show to be awesome, as New Orleans is my favorite city in the US.
When I took my kids to New Orleans, we saw them filming a Mardi Gras scene and the city really seemed to embrace the show.

yeah, i'm a bit dissapointed. it was music for 48 minutes and they finally just introduced an interesting storyline.
