Just got back from this. I thought it was pretty damn funny. Cena and LeBron are great in it.

There are some good jokes but there are a lot of bad jokes. And it's long as shite. I give it a 4/10. Pretty disappointed.

I laughed the whole time. Man it had the sports to go with it. Was raunchy funny and the ending was hilarious. Good date night movie for sure.

Just got back. There were certainly parts where Schumer annoyed me or where I thought it was more cringeworthy, but I was surprised how funny it was. I laughed a good bit and didn't really expect to.

Any man looks like a parody of a comic book movie.

Did y'all hear Lebron was originally only supposed to do a cameo but he was so funny that they rewrote the script to give him some more lines???

I think Schumer is funny as hell. I'm super pumped about this.

Eh, that seemed like one of the main problems. He wasn't bad, but he wasn't hilarious. Show seemed like a bunch of random scenes thrown together with way too many cameos for no reason. It easily could have been a half hour shorter. There were a lot of scenes that just weren't that funny that added nothing to the story.

And I like Amy schumer a lot. I just don't think apatow has made a solid movie since knocked up.

See every Judd Apatow comedy in the last 10 years.

Does the movie suddenly have a tonal shift about halfway through where Apatow tries to make the movie have a deeper message than just a raunchy comedy?

Yup and it had all the ingredients of a hacky rom com too. They get together, have a fight, realize they like each other, get back together at the end, etc...

I really like Judd Apatow movies, but he could do this with every film of his I've ever seen. Good film maker and comedy writer, he can just be a little self indulgent right around the end of the second act and the beginning of the third.

Superbad never did that

I wouldn't consider 40 year old virgin like that either

Superbad is an Apatow movie in producing credit only.

I would argue the 3rd act of 40 Year Old Virgin definitely starts to drag right around the time he tries to bond with the daughter.

While still being hilarious. I don't think it drags at all

You could see it after about an hour in that it was gonna take that turn. I was hoping with it being rated R it would take more of a risk with the ending but it ended just like a pg-13 romcom would so I was kinda disappointed in that.

But other than the cliche ending, it was very good. Solid B+
