Movie has first showings tonight. Going to catch it in a bit.

Wow great installment. Very funny, definitely the funniest installment. The first 15 minutes or so with Forky is great. I honestly would have watched an entire movie of Woody and the gang just integrating Forky into Toy life.

That ending is going to be divisive though. On one hand it was probably a natural development for Woody, but good God it almost feels blasphemous. Stay during and after the credits though.

If they want to revisit the franchise in a few years, I already know how they can do so.

Does Woody get killed off at the end? That’d be an unexpected twist

No Woody does not die. He is the real MVP though.

I must be a monster. The ending didn't phase me at all. Maybe they oversold the ending, with Hanks and Tim Allen both talking about how they sobbed in the recording booth, and it took multiple takes to get through the dialogue for the last scene.

I was more emotional at the end of 3, but not the incinerator scene. I was pissed when Andy just gave the whole gang away to Bonnie.

Same.

I felt this was the end though. I don't foresee another Toy Story. It was a good way to end it.

I had hoped to see the other characters a little more, but with the way it ended, I understand why Woody was the star of the show.

That being said:

Toy Story 3

Toy Story 1

Toy Story 4

Toy Story 2

Woody stays behind with Bo Peep and a new crew of toys that is in the town Bonnie’s family stops in during their road trip. They travel around with a carnival and help other toys find their way to children.

Basically Woody realizes he has fulfilled his primary purpose as a toy - being there for Andy - and is now going to start a second life of helping toys who don’t have a kid, get to a kid and fill the void for them that he filled for Andy.

Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang go home with Bonnie. I read today that Forky will be getting his own series of short stories on Disney+ and once you see the movie you’ll see why I and others will be happy about that.

The ending initially didn’t sit that well with me but I’m more okay with it now. Pixar is great at giving you just enough of their movie to get you full but still wanting a couple of extra bites. They give you that 10 oz ribeye with sides but they make you wish you had the 12 ounce even if you are full.

It was pretty good but I did not like Woody final fate. BUt i guess he was Andy friend and if Andy was not around then Woody wouldn't last long either. It also a knock on the little girl to keep Woody happy enough to stick around. I did always wondered what happened to Bo Peep but she is now an action figure lol!

I think the most important thing about this movie is how they made Gender fluidity a thing with sexless toys like Spork and Knife. In today's age it was much needed but not be in your face about it.

Forky was clearly a dude bruh. Didn’t like Bo Peeps little Captain Marvel comment to Woody but other than that, it wasn’t SJWy at all.

And Pixar says no more sequels... for now. When this movie opens to over $150 million, closes with over $450 million domestic and nearly $1.5 billion worldwide, we’ll see how that tune changes in a few years.

You have arguably the best movie trilogy in history (definitely the best animated trilogy) and you extend it despite people’s trepidation and you STILL make what will be easily the best animated movie of the year and probably a top 3-5 movie of the year? Yeah, from a financial and artistic standpoint it would be stupid not to continue it - if you have the right story to tell. We went 11 years between 2 and 3 and then 9 years between 3 and 4. How many franchises can have 4 installments over 24 years and they are all standard bearers in their genre?

Yes needed. It is a new age now get on the train of progress. Sporky show how Bonnie consider herself sexless and not a girl. It was a powerful but subtle message. Other gender fluidly messages in movies or television beat you over the head with the message, but this one was very innocuous. Thats a GOOD thing. The movie was fun for the Cissies while at the same time teaches children about gender fluidity but not preach about it. That is the perfect balance, a movie where everyone can rally behind and get something from it.

Well this is a spoiler thread, so... are you referring to Forky’s last line in the credit scenes, how he answers the knifes question?
