SPOILER ALERT:
I think the entire movie after he sat in the chair was just his recall and was a dream but a few of the people I went with thought it was his real life...what do you guys think? I think he was just a normal dude and everything was implanted....I mean he got EXACTLY what he signed up for.

Spoilers...
Yeah I thought that too initially but wouldn't they have played it up towards the end like inception? They might have done that once he defeats Lori and reunites with Melina where he looks to the billboard for Rekall playing to the question is this recall or is this real? People who say this movie sucks who haven't seen it are missing out big time.

This is how I think of the original too. I want to think that right after the scene with Mars getting clouds, that Quaid just wakes up in a chair, looking at his wife. Sharon Stone, the one he had "divorced" earlier.

I haven't seen the new one, but the original is one of the best Arnold movies out there; so the bar is set pretty high to me.

Spoiler Alert(?)
But does the 2012 version compete with the acting/ special FX sequence starting at 1:56 in this clip from original?

sorry if the movie is 20+ years old, no alerts are needed.
The new one is pretty good.
(spoilers)
What is up with the Fall?
That seems impossible. Did thje war mess up the air so bad, that its better to go to Austrailia and Britian via tunnel? And not fly?

Spoilers...
Yeah that and it is probably quicker to just go through the center of the earth its a more direct route than following the curvature of the Earth the whole way in the air.

Several people in this thread have confirmed what I said. The only people who say otherwise have not even seen the movie and are letting what they think it will be like guide their hatred.

NO ONE who has seen it has come into here saying otherwise.

I thought it was weird that the biological warfare residue could be counter-acted by a breathing mask. That would have to be heavy duty stuff to prevent re-habitation and he is kind of walking out there at the end with his skin exposed.

I agree, heard nothing but bad things about this remake. But not one poster that has seen it has posted that the movie is poor.
I was going to illegally obtain it anyway, now I won't wait as long.

It's not THAT great but it was better than I expected. It has A LOT of action so I would advise seeing it for real. I am all about pirated copies except for big action flicks. Depending on how you interpret the movie it can be just an ok big budget action flick or something deep and thought provoking, it will be one or the other with no in between IMO.. I guess that is why people seem to love it or hate it.

Spoilers......
The did play it up IMO, just in a subtle way 99% of the people missed or didn't understand.. Like you mentioned him seeing the Rekall sign was proof it was all a dream and it was over. The sign let him know it was complete and he had gotten what he paid for. I can't imagine going back to a normal life at a factory after that!
