Got it last night at redbox. Thank the good lord that they cast two extremely hot women in the movie. If I had to choose btw a world where I "think" I'm married and bang Kate B every night versus any other world. Call me stupid, I'm staying in that world.

From an action movie stand point, it wasn't terrible, but as far as story and everything else. Mehh.

It was a CFR - a Colin Farrell Remake. That's all that needs to be said.

This reminds me of Walton and Johnson yesterday. They were talking about Dennis Quaid movies and the fact they just about all have "too much Quaid". His brother, Randy, OTOH, always delivers "just the right amount of Quaid". I must be losing IQ points because I'm finding these twits funny, when I used to find them unlistenable.

So if a movie tries to pay homage to an older film AND follow the book more closely than the original film, it's automatically a failure...

I just dont like these movies where they shoot 90% of it and dont spend enough time on character developement, dialogue, etc...It was more like, hey here's a hot chick, let her shoot and fight for the rest of the movie.

edit: Wait, there's a book?

All science fiction movies are based on Philip K. Dick books. Fact.

Not all of them, but damn near close. You lump in Asimov, you'll pretty much cover the rest.

It's a short story by Philip K. Dick, I think it's called We Can Remember it for you Wholesale.

The main character in the book is Quail, and not Quaid.

I doubt they were playing homage to anything except trying to make $$.

That's correct.

Aside from Kate B's arse, the new one sucked.

I can only think of two movies based off of Asimov's fiction: Bicentennial Man and I, Robot. And I don't think that I, Robot really counts. What else is out there?
