My favorite part is she doesnt even wear a military uniform. She's just in some shitty dress with purple hair.

She's Leia second in command and supposed to be showing that's she's taking charge and leading the entire Resistance after Leia is knocked unconscious and she shows up to the command bridge in her lazy Saturday attire, tells the resistance hero and mascot Poe to frick himself and then refuses to tell anyone the plan.

What a dumb bitch

The idea that they’ll be followed through hyperspace but will be able to conveniently abandon ship and no one will notice is a fricking dumb plot point.

Yeah, even if the sensors don’t work, they still have eyes right? They can still see them escape. Out of the thousands of people looking out at them that not one of them is going to notice assloads of escape pods leaving the ship?

This plot was written by hacks at the Huffington Post who put this out in one draft and decided they could call anyone who calls it a piece of shite a sexist.

It's a plot point that Snoke tells Rey to look out the window and watch the escape pods get blown up.

“We have a plan. We won’t show up on their sensors.”
“Wait a moment, there are like 10 ships chasing us, so they probably have what, 1.5 million people looking on us at any given time? And you mean to tell me not one of them will not notice us escaping? Are you fricking retarded?”

This is like abandoning a pirate ship on row boats while being chased by a full armada thinking you’ll throw them off.

Also the fact that the deception to the crew was completely unnecessary and only there to prove how silly that evil man Poe was. The same Leia that fully briefed her troops during the evacuation of Hoth. If someone was going to make that sacrifice it should’ve been Ackbar. Hero of the Rebellion. Not purple Dern

Yup

Also seemed weird that Poe didn’t know Derm. There’s only a couple hundred rebellion fighters so it seems like a high ranking bitch like Dern wouldn’t been known to all.

Plus, was Rose down there just to guard the escape pods? She says she’s stopped others from evacuating. Seems like the pods should’ve been better guarded than just her. And now they’re unguarded when Rose goes on adventure.

I can roll with the plan, if we’re shown that the escape pods really are too small and far away to be seen. It’s not the strongest writing—it does take suspension of belief to think this would work in a universe with such amazing technology—but it didn’t ruin the movie. I’d have been ok with the escape pod plan if it hadn’t involved Dern’s girl power moment. Just use Akbar. And they could still try Poe’s plan at the same time!

The Mary Poppins scene was the worst moment from the entire universe and no, I haven't forgotten about Jar jar.

That's the kind of thing that makes me think they did this on purpose. I think any one of us in this thread could come up with a better idea than that, and they have several overpaid "artists" handling this.

How about, as the the laser/torpedo is about to breach the hull where the bridge is, Leia beginning to summon force powers. As the hull breaks away, Leia, with her back to the breach, lifts her arms and gathers all of the hull bits and debris back inwards. She holds it in an intense moment until a force field is said to be re-established. Then, she collapses and remains unconscious like she did anyway.

That's the first other idea that came to my mind. It may not be Oscar-worthy, but it's better than Mary Poppins by a long shot.

Not only did he not know her, but he had never seen her or heard anyone talk about her.

Bizarre.

She's hearing multiple reports from her bridge crew and is giving out rapid fire orders, trying to fight off attacks from all angles. Maybe the torpedo is missed by a crewman or pilot and Leia has to basically drop everything and expend herself just to keep them alive in that one moment.

Can we please get a moratorium on new Star Wars threads? It’s getting exhausting.

You can stop opening them if you don’t want to read them.

It is the most intellectual Star Wars and y'all are all fricking crazy. Only issue I had was retconning Leia to be a force user, but it actually makes sense that she would be to a small degree.

Finn should've died though

Actually that’s not a retcon. She felt her mutual connection to Luke.

No is upset that Leia is force sensitive.
