I think Rey joining him would have been badass. That would have been a WTF moment up there with the Vader proclaiming that he is Luke’s father. No one would have seen that coming.

Then the rebel’s escape somehow and there is true hopelessness since their champion Rey seems to have fallen.

besides you can play it handheld. my wife saw it and just thought it looked gay so I don't think you need to worry about it looking pervy.

Thx this is the answer I was looking for.

Sorry about the douchness in this TLJ saga, I just really thought it was better than this board was giving it credit for, I guess it really sucks and I just either have poor taste or overlooked stuff.

I need to go see it again to really lock it in.

I couldn't let go guys, sorry about being a idiot.

GQ is so pitiful now. I remember when it was about dressing nice and knowing how to score with high class or slutty chicks.

You know what would've been an amazing twist in this movie and showed real and true development and badass movement on the character of Kylo Ren?

If in that throne room when Snoke presented Rey to Kylo to kill, Kylo force grabs Anakin’s old light saber, slashed Rey in half with it, then turned around and slaughtered the Red Guard and Snoke. Then Luke shows up to the resistance planet just in time for him and Leia to sense what happened and the movie ends with Kylo giving the command to take his ship down to the planet so he can face his old master.

You want to end the Skywalker line and restart the whole franchise? That's how you do it. Episode IX sees the first order wipe out the resistance and then Luke and Kylo battle to the death. Luke kills Kylo and then dies his magical force death.

Skywalker line ends full circle. Star Wars can move on.

If they wanted to build the new and kill the old they should have had Snoke kill Luke but let Luke's sacrifice enable Rey to escape. That would have shadows of the first Star Wars and would have enabled an epic Luke versus Snoke battle that left tension for the last episode in this trilogy.

I bought the Star Wars edition of Rolling Stone. I had no idea how liberal that magazine was.

No, that would age worse.

Rey doesn't beat Luke, he's walking off saying "leave me the frick alone" and she pulls a lightsaber on him. He doesn't cower, he maintains his cool and tells her whatever.
As it all plays out, I have no difficulty believing Luke could have froze her, taken the lightsaber, and spanked her petulant arse... had he desired. He didn't.

Kylo doesn't beat Luke, Luke toys with him via the Force, lets him know he will be watching, and fades away.

Luke retires as the champ, leaving Rey to handle the mortal, day-to-day shite.

Luke losing to Snoke creates far more of a mess than even this movie did. Luke held Vader to a stalemate 30 yrs ago, he's progressed (even if he got weird and ornery). Snoke beating him would elevate Snoke to beyond Palpatine level, which throws the entire series into chaos.
As it turns out, Snoke was just a big baddie with too much talk, and not enough action, to handle up on Kylo. He served his purpose, but he's no more than a Dooku or Grevious; Kylo is the true savant. Kylo can control the Dark Side while still being pulled to the Light, instead of being controlled by the Dark Side. Kylo is actively rejecting the Light, and choosing the Dark, instead of being lost in it.

We still don't know what Rey is, other than she's got complete faith in her abilities (as of now at least, she has zero doubt). And she doesn't fear the Dark Side, which may be a big mistake on her part, or may indicate that both she and Kylo can channel both sides without loss of identity.
