SuperHeroHype
Forbes
quote:

There is one more factor here in that Brittney was reportedly a finalist to play Superman himself, right up there alongside Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult. And as we saw with Hoult, he was instead given another big DCU role, Lex Luthor. The idea here is that if Brittney made it that far, impressing many, giving him Bruce Wayne may follow that previous trend.

Not surprising this came out before the weekend was even over with Supergirl's performance. They need some good news. Rumor for now

He's got the jaw.

Send him a thousand hours of Kevin Conroy speaking.

I don’t even care. Gunn’s DC has started out with two turds. I’ll just stick with the Reeves stuff.

Probably another Twitter rumor that isn't true. I don't know much about that actor. Have you seen him in anything? Does he look the part?

As good as Superman was, Supergirl was that bad, apparently.

Man of Tomorrow needs to be great and a big hit, or this isn't happening

Worked out well the last time a Brit was cast.

I haven’t seen him in anything but I think he did a WW2 movie with Tom Hanks

I think he looks the part, 6’2 so he can stand toe to toe with Corenswet
quote:

In the films, he starred in the role of a young naval officer in Greyhound (2020), starring alongside Tom Hanks, and most recently, he featured in Back in Action (2025), which was released on Netflix and stars Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx. He currently has a few projects lined up that include Black Box and Fall 2: Deadpoint. That’s solid genre work, but not something that screams Hollywood leading man. Standing tall at 6’2" (per IMDb), he certainly has the frame of Bruce Wayne (the DC superhero is supposed to be a peak human).

He was also a finalist for Superman

Gunn needs to decide if he's going to direct these or not.

he's stated that no movie will be made without a completed and up to par script and apparently Super girl script sucked.

How you base the movie on a graphic novel and take nothing from that novel is beyond me the failure of SG is on Gunn.

After that, it’s unclear. An individual with knowledge told TheWrap that DC is prioritizing a Bane/Deathstroke movie, but the project doesn’t have a director or cast lined up yet. And while “Man of Tomorrow” is due to hit theaters in July 2027, it remains to be seen how Ellison will survey the DC landscape if he takes over Warner Bros. and how heavily he may be inclined to shake things up.

It would make sense to focus on some Batman adjacent characters since they are popular

I think that's a good idea. Make it a kick arse action flick with minimal CGI. It allows you to keep the budget low.

Looking forward to the "Why would they make a serious version of Deadpool?" Deathstroke comments.

my one big disappointment is not being able to see that solo Batman vs. Deathstroke movie with Affleck.

Agreed. I was really pumped for that one.

People are speculating that Gunn has chosen the director of Predator Badlands for this one

For the Deathstroke one? I'd be interested to see what he could do with it, although I didn't like Prey. I need to watch Badlands.

I remember Andy Muschietti was (is?) attached to The Brave and the Bold. I don't think that one sticks
