The Joey Diaz character in this was pussy's dad.
Teenaged Tony with that stupid hair, whiny confused face glued on, and letterman jacket was like watching Will Sasso play a 5th grader on mad TV. Alarmingly bad.
I'd definitely want more than just 60% of the next movie devoted to blm and how they were the real smart yet kind mafia leaders and demanded everyone's respect.

Yeah you are correct. Joey Diaz (the guy who gets his head blown in half) is his dad in the movie. Idk this thing was all fricked up and apparent they tied the sopranos to it so Chase could make his movie about the riots, but supposedly he signed a deal with HBO for a few other projects so this might be an initial thing.

Haven't seen it yet but seems easier to have Richie Aprile and not Pauly be involved in the hit on Dickie.
In a sequel I better see Tony buying Richie and Jerry Anastasia Benihana dinners.

Dickie reminded me so much of a younger Ritchie.

Can the film be seen by someone who hasn't seen the series?
Or is it standalone enjoyable? Girlfriend may watch and if there are too many future references it may not be as "enjoyable" ir seems

I never watched sopranos, would obviously like too, hate going back to older stuff though.
Had no interest in this at all. Watched it on a long flight and had to stop 5 times or so from falling asleep

I would not consider it standalone enjoyable, no.
It was fine, but I think most of my enjoyment I got out of it had more to do with me recognizing who these characters were supposed to be in relation to the show than the actual content of the movie.

I mean everyone is different, but alot of it was fan service, which some fans like some didn't. But if they wanna watch a brief glimpse into a random point in time during some riots then they might enjoy it.

So sequel gives us Tony, Jackie, and Sil busting Feech's game while Ralph fricks hippy broads and fast forward to the Unrest of 83?

Man, does this whole black storyline have any bearing on The Sopranos? Don’t they have enough black shows and remakes now?
No, everything has to be about them now

Yep that was a complete hijack of the show. Had nothing to do with the storyline. What a disappointment and waste of my time. I feel like driving to Hollywood and just boing the director from the front of his house. Absolute garbage. Did they even attempt to write a plot that had to do with the Sopranos?

Please tell me it wasn't, woke! That would be insulting to the entire series.

I wouldn't say it was "woke" but they just included a whole black character with a sub-plot that had ZERO to do with the story for the sake of diversity I guess

Yeah it’s bad
There is no plot. Just social commentary and Italian catchphrases sprinkled in
Holy frick I’m watching it right now and the scene with the blind kids playing baseball. This feels like a joke

I associated that with the sub-plot. I agree it had nothing to do with the storyline
