Just watched it last night. I enjoyed it, no complaints. I don't think it was entirely needed but it gave fans some nice closure on jesse's story. I'm curious if once BB ended vince heard lots of grumbling from fans about not know what happened to jesse so he did this as a little epilogue to close the book on that part of the BB universe. At any rate it was nice to see jesse get some redemption and get his freedom and appear content with life. And the shootout scene was badass.

Correct that is the only reason he didn't shoot him right there. Todd knew he had Brock over him.
Jesse could have rescued Brock before the Nazis got back in town and learned of Todd.

I think his spirit was just crushed his courage was gone he had given up, you can’t really blame him at that point.

If Jesse was in his right mind and/or had 60 seconds to evaluate the situation, things may have been different because he had all the time in the world to protect Brock/screw the Nazis if he had killed Todd.
But he had spent weeks getting the crap beat out of him then turned into a lab slave then watching Brock's mom take a round because of his earlier escape attempt so he wasn't quite ready to process having a weapon pretty much dropped into his lap.

I dunno if that even crossed his mind. I mean he was broken.
I liked the scene because it was full on Todd talking his puppy down. And when it ended I expected he was really running a test for his uncle with a planted unloaded gun.
But then it was no, it was loaded and he was really talking his puppy down.
My only complaint was the Walt flashback was a retread with the other ones being such good narratives pushing the story forward.

That seems a lot easier said than done in Jesse’s condition. First, where would he even know where Brock is? He has to stay under the radar since everyone is looking for him. Not like he can go ask around.
Then, even if he does find him, he just takes the kid? What happens then?
ETA: well, just thought, maybe not everyone is looking for him since this was before it all went down with Walt. Still I don’t think it would be easy.

Man wanted in connection with the disappearance of two DEA agents steals a little boy from his grandmother's custody??

Yea the best way to save Brock if he had killed him would have been to go to the cops immediately and confess everything. Then the neonazis would be running for their lives and Brock would have protection. But I imagine he was worried the whole thing was a setup.

Well, I guess if we're actually planning this out and assuming Jesse had his wits about him, since he had at least 12 hours and maybe as much as 24, he buries Todd, goes back to his apartment for the cash then goes back to the Nazi compound and torches it or something so the cops come on to the scene.
Jesse can call 911 on his way out and tell them that Brock is in danger and where to find the nice cleaning lady but the Nazis will have bigger problems to worry about than Brock at that point.

I agree, I wish they would have showed him check the chamber or made sure it was loaded. Almost expected him to cliche point it and its empty but I like how vince wrote it.
Didnt matter if it was loaded or not.

I also don’t believe Jesse felt he deserved freedom at this point yet. He blamed himself for Brock’s mothers murder. He was broken and believed that he deserved what was happening to him at that point

Jesse was already almost broken as a human being in season 3 after hank pumbled him. That was before he truly caused the death of someone he cared about. He had to watch this irl..helpless..
He could have probably done all that, but I dont think he was even going to risk it. They knew were brock was, he didnt. He was used to his actions causing pain to others even if he thought he was right. I think he just didnt want to risk it. No matter his level of pain and anger.

I like to believe it was loaded because Todd Is careless like that.

Jesse is just not an interesting character

Neither was Cassius Clay.

Definitely loaded because Todd is an idiot as demonstrated by, among other things, letting Jesse out of his cage and carting him all around town in the first place.
I guess that was one benefit of the actor blimping out since the end of the show. He looked physically imposing compared to Jesse so people forgot that Jesse already whipped his arse once.

With Mike and walter in proximity when Todd was trying to brown nose.
Todd isnt an idiot, hes careless though. He would have eventually been caught.
I think Todd kinda liked jesse. No homo, just in a respectful way. Even when his uncle wanted to kill him in front of walter, todd stalled and almost made jack have to say it twice. He did save him from the execution too..
Now, that could have all been because he wanted to impress lydia. But, in all that time jesse was there rolling out 90%+ meth..Todd could have learned. He was good at taking notes and trying to cook. He could have learned all that, been the man and got rid of jesse. But he didnt.
I think seeing him come up with the biggest train robbery ever, and his knowledge made todd respect him. He respected walter alot too. Todd cant connect emotionally to other people. But I think he wants to, especially people he respects.
Lydia, walter and jesse.

I didn’t think it was very good.

Maybe but I'm not sure about that one.
He had a few months with Walt and learned so little that Declan's crew cut him out after he almost blew up their lab and Lydia didn't have faith in him until he revealed that they had Jesse.
