But Mike—the actor’s—age is about to become an issue. He can’t keep playing so many years pre-BB, especially if they’re taking 15 months between seasons. They’re gonna have to take a shorter hiatus, have a pretty big time jump, or write him off a bit. Hate to see the later, cause he may be the best character in the entire universe.
I was thinking along the same lines. There aren't many remaining pre-BB connections to make. This could be the last pre-BB season with next season focusing on Gene, and occasional flashbacks.
They could easily end this season with Saul handling the RV title for Jesse.

Vince was asked about this recently. I'm going to paraphrase, but his answer was basically, yes it's a problem, but any movie or show requires a bit of overlooking some things and just enjoying the story. With the Mike situation that's really our only option so deal with it.

mike would have already been killed by Walt.
In my world this didn't happen. Not possible at all. Similar to returning a missed field goal for a TD. Never happened.

That's exactly why it was possible. Mike even said Walt was a ticking time bomb and he didn't want to be around when he went off.
The thing that made Walt such a force was everyone else's ability to overlook and underestimate him until it was too late. It cost Hank his life. Walt managed to get the best of Mike at least 3 times because he underestimated him. The first time was when Mike was about to kill him, but Walt killed Gale. The second was when Mike chained Walt so he could sell the methlamine, but Walt got loose and changed the plan. The third time Walt murdered him.
One of Walt's greatest assets was everyone's ability to underestimate him.
Jesse is the only person who saw and understood Walt for what he was. He told Hank even when you think you've got him he is always two steps ahead.

Shut the frick up, and remember mike's death in peace.
And maybe jesse knows where walts remaining money that jack stole was located. Maybe he can use saul at a distance to get some of that to brock and mike family.

Calm down...lol
And what death?
And what death?

For a split second in the opening scene, I thought that Saul was about to give his real SSN, as his way of saying frick this life, let’s just play this out.

They had like 1/1000th the charisma or presence of Gus.

Agree, but they were perfect for the prison shanking scene. Also a more intelligent group of bad guys wouldn't have rolled up with an arsenal and shot up two DEA agents.
They had a purpose and served it.

yep. sad. they were really worried about some internal issues at AMC or something that would put the show in a bind, which forced their hand to end S4 the way they did. They wanted it to be tied up nicely in the event that it wasn't renewed for a 5th season.
im trying to find a source for that because I know it's true, but I can't. May have been on the bluray special features.
Seasons 3 and 4 are still the best television I've ever seen. Gus GOAT. Should've ended with him.

Im hoping gus gets a standalone episode in BCS.

I hope Gus doesn’t die in Better Call Saul. It’d suck to rewatch breaking bad and not have him alive in it.

Walt was the final bad guy.

That sucks if true. Would have been awesome to seem them carry out the show through the final season with Gus still being the main villain.

It was good how it was, walt still had things to do.

I agree, I definitely don’t have that many issues with how it ended as some on here do. Gus was just that great of a character that it would have been awesome for him to have been around until the end
