FandomWire previously reported that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were in talks for Spider-Man 3, starring Tom Holland. Now, a Sony source closely involved with Spider-Man 3 has confirmed that both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have signed on to reprise their respective Spider-Man roles next to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.

Without getting into too many plot secrets, the recently announced addition of Doctor Strange is the conduit to bringing these three Spider-Men together for the first time. The film will in-fact create the first live-action Spider-Verse.

Spiderverse makes sense with Strange and Jamie Foxx's Electro also confirmed. I saw a rumor yesterday that Electro, Scorpion, Kraven, and Green Goblin would be the villains so that works a little better if there's three Spidermen.

I know they have to create buzz, but I wish they were able to keep this kind of stuff secret.

Ok that’s a “take my money” meme! It sounds like a great idea, the animated Spiderverse was great and took me by surprise how well done it was.

More importantly, will Kirsten Dunst's soaking wet titties be making a cameo?

It seems logical considered the Doctor Strange and Jamie Foxx confirmations. We already know they're going for a multiverse story with Strange. I'm just surprised they're doing this so soon after the animated Miles Morales movie. It sounds like they will have bigger roles than just a cameo so I don't know if Marvel and Sony wanted this news to be a secret.

Fandomwire is not a reputable source, I’d change the thread title. Until we hear from a major source or Disney/Marvel directly, this is just a rumor for now.

Albeit one I’d love to see either now or in the future, so hopefully this becomes reality.

Tobey Maguire

I actually really enjoy his first Spider-Man movie. I could be totally wrong on this but I remember that movie bring back main stream super hero movies after the Batman's kind of petered out. I obviously know there were other super hero movies (X-Men included), but none were the size or success of Tobey's first Spider-Man.

Ok, I'll be that guy. Not sure how I feel about this direction. I know Marvel has a lot of pull with the story, but this sounds like Sony screwing with the model that works. Outside of Tobey Maguire's SM 1 and 2, the rest are trash and haven't held up over time at all, especially The Amazing Spider Man 2.

I would have preferred a Kraven the Hunter storyline with him hunting Holland. I'm sure I will revisit this in a couple years and realize how dumb I sounded because of how well it worked.

Doesn't the Multiverse allow for Thanos again? Dr Strange looked into 14 million alternate futures and the Avengers win only 1 (which makes Thanos really the overall winner when you think about it).

Also curious if they'll bring in Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen.

I thought it was 14 million different scenarios and only 1 where they won.

She really didn't look like much to start with, not ugly, just not very attractive. And not curvy either to get excited about her titties because she wasn't hittin on much in that area

my FB feed is littered with ones they drop as news but end up being pure rumor

and most start with..."coming from the same tipster that told us Magneto would be appearing in X Mean Age of the Apocalypse"
