No one has been able to make WB work. It's been a perpetual dumpster fire ever since the AOL Time Warner deal. At what point to do you just "sell it for parts"? Spin off HBO & CNN, sell Harry Potter & DC IP, and keep the legacy WB cable networks (Turner) with the Discovery network assets.

Also rumors that they might be looking to sell the whole Looney Tunes IP.

They even took the OG Looney Tunes off of Max a week or two ago (after killing off the Boomerang app last year)

The only hope the IP has left is if that Ketchup company that picked up the Daffy/Porky movie is able to buy and distribute Coyote vs Acme.

Yeah I’m 25 and you’re tripping. It definitely has a former player base into the 30s

I stand corrected on there being one entire generation of video game players who are aware of Minecraft. We'll just ignore that most 14 year-olds ditch Minecraft for fortnight and never look back, and we'll just pretend that there is a huge adult audience separate from parents of small children who are dying to go see a movie that is marketing itself as a kids' exclusive experience.

Why? The game primarily appeals to children under 13, and it's only been around longer enough for the vast majority of formers players to be under 25.

You constantly and consistently have the dumbest takes on this board.

Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time, with over 300 million copies sold and nearly 170 million monthly active players as of 2024. In addition, it has received critical acclaim, winning several awards and being cited as one of the greatest video games of all time; social media, parodies, adaptations, merchandise, and the annual Minecon conventions have played prominent roles in popularizing the game.

Probably reasonable, but both Joker 2 and Mickey 17 were greenlit and developed by the regime before De Luca and Abdy.

Another studio insider said the executives were openly bickering with their marketing team on group emails.

The entire advertising team needs to be canned. The first time I even heard about the De Niro movie was when articles started saying it bombed. No idea where they even ran the ad campaign.

I think they’re pretty screwed if they’ve put everything on Superman.

I think whoever ends up owning DC is going to have to scrap everything yet again and start fresh in 4 or 5 years.

In 5 years, I don't think James Gunn will be at DC anymore.

WB will likely be sold by then, so the new company would want their own people running things. Who knows if they'll even want to continue making DC Films. Batman, sure, but so many others have been huge flops. I'm a bit worried about Superman's prospects.
