How about we hope they leave out all resemblance of politics and give us an amazing movie that children and their parents can enjoy.

Who’s making this…Disney?

Yeah, good luck with that.

They're milking this franchise for all it's worth Toy Story 3 and 4 literally provided perfect endings for these beloved characters. I love Tim Allen as Buzz but stop milking this franchise and move on.

Actress Patricia Heaton summed up the general feeling on Twitter, “Disney/Pixar made a HUGE mistake in not casting my pal Tim Allen. Tim Allen in the role that he originated, the role that he owns. Tim IS Buzz! Why would they completely castrate this iconic, beloved character?”

Some people never understood that the Lightyear movie was about the origin of the character of which the toy is based on. Why would they cast Tim Allen to voice that character when he is voicing the toy?

Why would they insert a black female buzz lightyear as a main character? It’s not just about Buzz, it’s about race and gender swapping legacy characters

Why would the fricking toy not sound like the fricking dude the toy is based on?

The film, billed as the animated character’s origin story, was generally considered a bust, and Allen’s absence was felt. He had been voicing Buzz Lightyear since the 1995 debut of the franchise.

For all these people who were upset at Tim Allen not voicing Buzz in the movie. Were you all equally as outraged at the Buzz lightyear show that aired starring Patric Warburton as Buzz.

Who was raceswapped. Disney made an original movie with original characters outside of Buzz. Buzz was a regular white man, as always. How is that swapping race/gender?

You do realize in real life, toys based off of movie characters are often not voiced by the original actor/actress.

Let me ask you this - when they get someone to do the toy voice of a real person (or a fictional character), do they get someone who sounds:

1. As close as they can get to the original,

2. Meh, or

3. Nothing like the original

(I'll hang up and listen.)

But I was told Buzz Lightyear was a success and didn’t need Tim Allen

whats crazy is, Buzz without Tim and the lesbo kiss wasnt a bad movie... But it also wasnt a kid movie....Too deep of topic, him striving to save the people while they all got old around him.

But attach the Buzz character, and axing Tim and being a kids character with lesbos kissing.... was a perfect recipe for failure.

But Tim Allen just had a Santa Clause series in Disney+, so it’s clear that Disney wasn’t refusing to work with him. For all we know, he didn’t want to do the Buzz film. He doesn’t do the voice for many of the shows, or the rides at Disney, so maybe he only wants to be in the main series.

I don’t think they were blacklisting Tim Allen but it is hilarious how badly Lightyear backfired on them

This question is impossible to answer. You know good and well it's too subjective.
