I’m just glad to know that Toby is still alive in the future.
I will be curious to see how the infertility story plays out. As someone with PCOS I appreciated it being included in Kate’s story. Glad they didn’t present IVF as a magic solution and showed that it doesn’t always work, esp if you are obese.

As far as I can tell they are at an old folks home or assisted living facility?
Am I missing something?

Probably, but it could be a mental health type facility as well. Tess said something like she wasn't ready yet. I can't figure out why they called Toby and he said "she" doesn't want to see him, whoever "she" is. We could speculate all kinds of things. Maybe Kate died in childbirth and Rebecca got mad at him. Maybe Kate got pregnant and lost the child and went nuts. Maybe something happened with Beth, though I don't know how Toby fits that. Yet another mystery. All we know is there is a "she" in some sort of facility and Tess isn't ready to see the "she" and Toby doesn't think the "she" wants to see him.

Thank god for DVR

I think it’s Rebecca and she had some sort of falling out with Toby. And I think Kate is dead at that point.

I rarely watch before it's on the TIVO. I can't stand the commercials unless I need my own personal break.

The commercials are awful. We dont get NBC live on Hulu so I have to watch on the antenna. Almost worth just waiting until the next day to watch so I can skip commercials.

They specifically told Toby to “come down”
Could be nothing but it made me think they were in the same building that he was, but also the same building as the person they were going to see.
I could have interpreted wrong

I took it the same way you did. Seemed like a hotel to me.

I'm late to the party.
Have the writers just given up on making Kate likable? She's a horrible character and I'm tired that 90% of the time she's on screen she's whining or yelling or complaining about SOMETHING.
It IS possible to have flawed characters who are suffering that we can like/root for. I'm so tired of her.
I'm assuming they're dragging out who this "she" is much like they dragged out Jack's death. There has to be that one thing they can tease to keep more people invested in the show.
Liked the twist of Beth protecting Kevin and not the cousin.
Really happy to see more of the Jack/Becca courtship and knowing that he wasn't prince charming. He was broke and emotionally fragile

Did you see where ratings were down 26% year over year in the key demo and 20% overall for the premiere vs season 2 premiere.
Thats interesting why so many people bailed

I watched some parts again. I think you may be right about the hotel.
Tess says: "I'm going to run to the bathroom before we head over." Sounds like they're going elsewhere from wherever they are.
Also noticed again the references to the "immaculate reception" and wondered if that relates to Kate's pregnancy in some way.
When Toby tosses his pills in the toilet, the sports reporter talking about the catch is heard in the background saying "A single moment changed destiny forever."
They spent more time on Harris before he played in the game and after the game than I would have expected. Why do they show his family?

Easy.
Because the Jack death storyline is over.

S1 was fresh enough and had lots of questions to keep people intrigued throughout. S2 was a step down and all we really had was Jack's death. S3 so far... not really much of anything going on and now the only question is who is Randall/Tess going to see. I don't expect ratings to be good.

yeah, i agree.
if this were a miniseries the first series it would have been one of the GOAT
they might have to take some big leaps to keep it fresh

plus the show wanted her to do a surgery for the show and she declined because she loves her body. Shes morbidly obese
she loves her joints aching, making every day tasks difficult, buying three tickets on planes, high risk for heart disease, diabetes and basically everything?
fricking absurd.

Yea, unless he somehow is getting added to the story lines I don't really see the point of all that.
