I'd like to vote no on the "entertainment" board. I like Movies and Tv by themselves. And a music board would be awesome. We've been pushing that for so long now it's basically just a joke to the admins though. But I understand their reasons for not wanting it though.

Agreed. I think Music threads belong on the OT. Just dont read the other garbage, and on there that thread will get a ton more traffic that it would here.

If the tenor there was not so damn agressive, I could agree. There is a very limited ability for many people there to offer an opinion without hammering on someone else.

ive been saying and asking for a year why isn't there an entertainment board that covers music, film and TV? is it that hard?. The discourse about music is rampant on this site and its a shame it doesnt have a home. I love soccer, but world cup fever got it a site while music conversations languish between the OT and MTV board.

I'd hate to see this board ruined by being designated as the "Entertainment Board". This board is great the way it is, let music have it's own board. The music threads that are started here now are fine but if this board becomes the official place for everyone to discuss music it will mess up the awesomeness

hmm, now yall are swaying me the other way. something I appreciate about the M/TVB is its slow pace. A good thread can deservedly stay on the front page for at least a day, whereas higher trafficked boards will push away good topics due to the sheer volume of threads created.
so yeah, maybe we should have a Music board for itself, but in the meantime if I want good discussion on music I'll likely do it here.

Are the admins also worried about people coming on here and posting email addresses so they can share music? I'd imagine TD could get in some deep shite over that.

Other forums have music boards and don't seem to be in any trouble. All it takes is a competent person to oversee the board

It makes more sense to post music stuff here, because music threads get lost in all the IM threads, and Alexa threads on the OT..
At least here people would actually be able to see them.

I've seen a number of threads on this board regarding soundtracks. Seems to be the most likely board to discuss music

Truth. Of all the forums I visit, TD is may favorite but it has the worst admin.'s/moderators/whatever of any site I've been to.

I'm in for some sort of music board, whether it's a solo board or lumped with movies.
