I think a lot of you have nostalgia glasses on when it come to Attack of the Clones.

It's not just a terrible Star Wars movie, it's a terrible movie period.

Internet hatred for AotC has really grown over the years. At the time, a lot of fans liked it and thought it was an improvement on Phantom Menace.

But then again, the overall obsession with hating the prequels is something that has grown over time with internet forums.

I didn't know anyone who didn't think AotC was mostly stupid.

I know people use this as an example of the worst dialogue in a Star Wars movie, but it's not even the worst dialogue in Attack of the Clones.

From the moment I met you, all those years ago, not a day has gone by when I haven’t thought of you. And now that I’m with you again… I’m in agony. The closer I get to you, the worse it gets. The thought of not being with you- I can’t breath. I’m haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me. My heart is beating… hoping that kiss will not become a scar. You are in my very soul, tormenting me… what can I do? I will do anything you ask… if you are suffering as much as I am, please, tell me.

or how about when they managed to give Yoda shitty lines that completely frick up how Yoda speaks?

Thanks to the actors who delivered each, I'm sticking with the sand.

If you deny it, you don't understand Star Wars. shite on the prequels all you want, they are far more related to the spirit of the Original Trilogy than anything else that's come since

If you watch Empire of Dreams even the original cast in the original Star Wars talks about the bad dialogue.

Carrie Fisher: You could write it on a piece of paper but you couldn't say it, nobody talks like that.

Little did we know, that was the BEST dialogue Lucas would ever write.

And how bad the dialogue is in the prequels.

Best thing that ever happened to Star Wars was Lucas hiring a Director to do Empire...a Director who was about interpersonal films and dialogue and relationships.

It's amazing that the Director who started his career with American Graffiti just didn't seem to get people later in life...he got so wrapped up in ILM and his SXF and then THX...he was washed up before he even began the prequels.

No one in their right mind would want to see a Lucas Star Wars again.

It's like the most recent ones are purposely there to make the prequels look good in comparison.

Episode II is a masterpiece compared to TLJ.

Just a lot of shitty dialogue, bad CGI, and too many boring stretches.

All the markings of a bad movie. At least the newer movies look good.

People crap on the dialogue of the prequels, but we now have PrequelMemes as an offshoot to bring the fanbase together for them. The sequels have nothing and (like others have mentioned) feel disconnected from the rest of SW.

It was more in the writing than the directing. Lawrence Kasdan crafted the screenplay for the best SW movie of them all. It’s a near perfect movie.

Which brings me to this:

I feel that at least TFA (also written by Kasdan) felt like SW again after the prequels. Unfortunately TLJ has reversed this and made TFA worse, and arguably irrelevant. Had they gone with the original script for the trilogy that JJ, and likely with the help of Kasdan wrote, instead of trashing it after TFA, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

Meh. Once you get over the rush of "Stars Wars" is back and start to analyze the films with anything like an objective lens, Send in the Clones is the worst among the terrible prequel trilogy. Yes, Cartoon Menace had Jar Jar, but it had a handful of redeeming moments.

ROTWAPWCTBDVBIIFN felt "okay" at the time, but only because the first two movies were so awful. It retains many of the flaws of the first two films.

The truly shocking thing that stands out in hindsight is the acting. And I'm not just talking about Jake Lloyd and HC. Don't get me wrong, they were awful. But, guys and gals we know FOR A FACT can act, bombed in these terrible movies. The story (Midiclorians, anyone? bullshite meandering about Republic trade politics and lame attempts at GoT-style scheming) was silly. The set piece action scenes (almost 100% CGI) were only punctuated by meandering expositive dialogue of 2 to 3 characters walking down a green screen corridor or sitting on couches.

Nothing about those films is artistically redeeming in my eyes. It was a classic cashing out of a brand by its unchecked, unmoderated creator who had clearly lost several steps since he last directed. And with all the folks who kept him honest gone, Lucas had surrounded himself by scads of younger "yes men" who were in awe of him, instead of collaborative partners who would have had the balls to say, "George, with all due respect, this is fricking stupid."
