The article is behind a paywall, unfortunately

They will until they don't.
I'm sure Synder thought the same.

I've always felt like he'll keep them around for a bit because he has so many other things on his plate. He could let them continue what they're doing as he works on building this behemoth of a company. And if MOT is huge, that helps Gunn.

I’m sure he is far more concerned about losing the Boomers once Sheridan leaves for Peacock and the Yellowstone-verse runs dry.

rebooting again would just set you back further...now they may keep Gunn's MCU but reign him in a bit

Until you have a new direction to go in, why commit to throwing out the current universe?
Besides, rebooting a DCU yet again this quickly is a bad idea. Either continue with Gunn or let it lay fallow for a while.

I'd imagine he's on a short leash.
Another $200 million bomb and he's likely gone.

He’s getting canned they’re just keeping everything calm until the other stuff is settled. Every single move they’ve made points to it happening. Not renewing his deal, restricting his budgets and projects. He’s done, which direction they go once that happens we’ll see. BTW Batman Nightfall part 1 just dropped and it’s way better than anything Gunn is capable of.

I need to check this out. Creature Commandos is excellent, so we shall see.

James Gunn is sharing an update on the ‘Superman’ sequel, ‘Man Of Tomorrow,’ as he marks the final day of principal photography.
The DC Studios film is set for release on July 9, 2027.
“That’s a wrap on principal photography for ‘Man of Tomorrow,’” Gunn shared on Threads. “Truly a joyful experience, and I have immense gratitude to my cast and crew.”

I do not believe Paramount and Ellison will give a single flying frick about James Gunn and DC until the deal goes through. This is small potatoes relative to dealing with the stupid suit.

I mean, the Snyder Cut was pretty good as well as the BvS Ultimate Edition.
