No way. This was a parody and was meant to be kind of cheesy, even at the time.

The second one was horrible though.

Glengarry Glen Ross

Al Pacino
Jack Lemmon
Ed Harris
Alan Arkin
Alec Baldwin
Kevin Spacey
Jonathan Pryce

A lot of great performances that just don’t really add up to a great movie. It has a few standout moments, but on the whole, a rather dull story about desperation.

Valentine's Day.

The poster was nothing but individually framed Brady Bunch style still shots of all 15(?) A-list cast members.

I remember nothing about the movie except Julia Roberts was on a plane in ACUs at some point.

Have to disagree.

Its a play up there with 12 Angry Men and Death of a Salesman.

Its a great script... the desperation in the sellers and the remorse in the buyers is a torn palpable tension for the viewer.

Definitely underwhelmed by the movie, but yes it is effective at times and maybe even a classic.

Not a troll post.

That movie is ridiculously stupid.

Stardust might be the most surprising great movie, i went into it knowing nothing and expecting it be a dumb fairy tail.

Agreed. I'd never heard of it and really enjoyed it when I watched it a year ago. Apparently it did OK, don't know why it is so little known. Maybe it doesn't get much action on cable? The story is a fun Neil Gaiman book so it had great material to start with.

I insert a film anomaly, “Butter.” Filmed right here in Shreveport, has the following:

Olivia Wilde
Ty Burrell
Jennifer Garner
Rob Cordry
Alicia Silverstone
Hugh fricking Jackman

Box office gross of $175,000. You read that right. Has to be a tax write off movie it’s fricking horrible.

Think I have you all beat.

John Huston
Henry Fonda
Shelley Winters
Cesar Danova
Bo Hopkins

Sounds promising, eh?

ETA: Pro Tip - if you should ever want to do a Google image search to find the poster for this film with the keyword "tentacles", be sure to turn Safe Search "ON"

I don't hate the movie, but for me, it is a prime example that not every successful book need not be made into a movie.

Tentacles is giving off that "Jaws 2" vibe from Michael Caine. "I have never seen the film, I'm told its dreadful. The house I bought thanks to that paycheck I see every day and it is wonderful."

Ironically, Jaws 2 was on AMC yesterday, I watched a little of it because it was partially filmed in Destin/Navarre. It was pretty dreadful

In a similar vein, I knew a guy who provided security to Roy Sheider when they were filming down here. He and Sheider used to go jogging on the beach every morning. He said the guy bitched about everything associated with the film - the director, the script, the other actors, etc.

One day, after hearing this over and over, the security guy asked him, "if you're so unhappy with this film, why do you put up with it?" Sheider replied, "I asked myself that same question, You know, if they weren't paying me $400,000, I'd quit today."
