The Wire: Worth watching after S1?

Finished season 1 and really enjoyed it.
I've watched first 2 episodes of season 2 and the story has grinded to a halt. Seems like they are forcing the plot from all season 1 main characters and really have not done a good job integrating the new story lines.
With this show being 5 seasons, is it worth it to keep going? Does it get any better than season 1?

I didn't like season 2 at all, almost stopped watching. Thank God I didn't because the rest of the series is epic.

I'll keep going. I went straight from season 1 into 2.the action and plot was intense all season 1, I wasn't ready for the pace change.
I see the potential in season 2, it's just taking a while to introduce the new characters and story line.

It's ok. Not close to the GOAT some proclaim. BB is way better overall 5 seasons to 5 seasons
