The Tick on Amazon Prime

The full first season is now up on Amazon. For those unfamiliar with The Tick, this is a parody superhero series, kind of like The Incredibles. It does a good job balancing humor and action. There are lots of interesting characters and it's 12 half hour episodes so it's a really quick and easy binge.

How does it stack up against Warburton's Tick?

i hear the amazon series is great - but nothing stacks up to Warburtons.

I haven't seen that version since it originally aired. But I remember thinking Putty was perfect as the Tick, so it's really hard to compete with perfect. The new guy, Peter Serafinowicz, really grows into the role though. He went from me feeling like he was trying too hard in the first episode to me really loving the direction he took things. Him trying to figure out his origin story is great.
Maybe it was just the technology limitations of the time/costume budget, but I remember the Wharburton version being really campy. This iteration of the Tick I'd put much more in line with The Incredible in terms of tone. You watch for the journey and laugh along the way as opposed to it being a comedy show about superheroes.

Nothing could improve upon the animated series.

I'm enjoying the ride.
I like how this series is following Jackson Publiks(Venture Bros, a main writer for the Tick animated series) writing style without retreading it.
I lost my shite during Midnight and Overkill's argument.
JEH makes my day as a villain/anti-villain.

Just finished the season, good work. Tick convinced he was a robot was good stuff. Arthur in Dangerboat's shower and the aftermath are still making me giggle.
Here's hoping for a Season 2

I haven't watched the new episodes but the first half was great.
His naivete is so perfect for this part.

Second half isn’t nearly as good as the first
I think the break in action is partly to blame
I agree

Is Warburton a producer on this new series? I'm pretty sure I saw his name crawl by on the credits but I was half asleep.
