That is a really effective scary movie. I got several chills when I saw it. It also has a rather sad subplot.

Remember the line, "She's waiting for you Robbie...in Hell. And she's turned cannibal."

When I saw Blair Witch Project in the theatre I remember thinking this is dumb as shite and when the camera fell at the end then the credits started rolling someone said loudly "That's it? Seriously? What the frick?!?" And the entire crowd laughed. Terrible.

It's so funny how people have different reactions to this film. I found it pretty chilling when I saw it at the theatre. My sister on the other hand had the same reaction you did...she thought it was just stupid.

I only wish I had been one of the filmmakers who did the movie...they invested a few hundred thousand dollars (at most) and made well over a hundred million dollars at the box office. What a score! And I remember their marketing campaign was just brilliant, with that mockumentary that was shown a few weeks before the movie came out.

That demon creature was wicked. I remember the trailer for the movie said something like, "So horrible that people dare not speak its name...Pumpkinhead."

Try about $60,000 and $250 million.

And that's not even counting rentals and DVD/VHS.

Wow...talk about hitting the lottery, huh?

On the other hand, I think the actors earned union scale wages making that movie. Can you imagine how they must feel?

The scariest thing I eve saw was Hillary Clinton running as a candidate be our next President. F'ing chilling the way that horror show would have ended.

Although it does have some unintentionally funny scenes, like the old native American guy with the burning cigarette between his fingers (he's so frightened, he forgets it as it burns down).

Actually, I thought this was an illustration of the effects of the mercury (in the fish) on the guys body.

The second and third Poltergeist. The old preacher freaked me out big time. Was probably 10 when the second one hit VHS.

Oh okay. It's been a while since I saw that movie. For some reason, I had the image in.my head of the man being frightened so bad, he was oblivious to the cigarette in his hand.
