Anybody plan on catching this one? It apparently dropped the first two episodes today on Amazon Prime (I’ll catch it later). And being a huge Mad Men fan, Matt Weiner directing and a ton of Mad Men alums (with a loaded cast all together) is defintely a draw.

Not a big fan of the premise, I'm probably skipping it. Had this been a series revolving around Nicholas though, I'd be all over it

Watched the first 30 minutes before work.

I enjoyed.

First two episodes are 90 mins so that may get old for me if every episode is movie length.

I was intrigued until I read this part of your post:

If it was actually about the royal family, I'd probably watch.

Going to parrot everyone else and say that a period show involving the Romanoffs would be fantastic.

There has to be something out there on them, right? I'm probably just naive in not knowing an obvious one. I feel like just the Rasputin story line would be interesting enough.

If I understand correctly, it’s different time periods too. So a modern person who is living paycheck to paycheck and another person who is a duke or something in the late 1800.

I’ll see what the reviews say. Not quite sold on the premise.

I've watched the first two episodes. Meh. Wasn't too bad. I'll give it a go, especially if there are stories from the past.

The first two episodes are out.

The first one was fantastic. Extremely well written, solid cast. The two main characters and their interplay were really enjoyable.

The second one fell flat. Boring characters, boring plot. Kept waiting for something to happen (and when it does you're not that impressed).

We'll keep watching in the hope that they'll hit gold again.

... and so am I. I found both episodes were just OK. They just seemed to drag and take forever for the payoff. I'm not going to "make" myself like it.

BTW I wonder if the tobacco lobby is involved. I get the first episode was in France but damn there's a lot of smoking in both.

Well, the lead actor was Big Tobacco's main lobbyist.

Since Weiner asked them to.

Gotta say, i thought the Paris episode was pretty dull and predictable for the most part. Weiner also isnt the strongest director, it was very bland looking.

Its feeling like a vanity project that was prob best left unproduced, but ill check out the next couple of stories to see theyre more interesting.
