Yeah...having Raw and Smackdown is pretty stupid.

The talent is nowhere near what it used to be either.

Too much wrestling is what happened. It was on every other night.

I can remember a time in the early 2000s when wrestling was on 6 nights a week. Plus you had 3 ppvs a month between WWF, WCW, and ECW. I was watching it at least 3 or 4 nights a week.

remember that time Dave Hernandez made out with a chick at a bar and talked about it on his wrestling radio show for like 2 hours? Best moment of my life.

Meanwhile WWF had Foley winning the title on Raw, Austin driving Zambonis, McMahon vs Austin, The rock, Dx, etc. That first year or so of the NWO was absolutely incredible though.

When NWO started it was awesome. I agree about the tameness as well being a "downfall".

WWF was way more geared toward a "mature audience." I was a huge WWF fan. The Undertaker v Kane was prob my favorite story line. Really anything pre American Badass with the Undertaker was my favorite story. And My parents hated Al Snow. Especially when i pulled the head off my sisters barbies, wrote help me on my head, and walked around my house asking people what they wanted

It's been going downhill for years because there's no real competition (and no, TNA is NOT real competition). Definitely peaked with WM 17.

WWF 2002:

had already started going downhill. 2000 was probably the last fresh year they had. Then the ministry and the corporation merged, then broke up, then stephanie mcmahon became WAY too big a player. Then it became all triple H all the fricking time.

No way, 2001 was awesome for WWF. Wrestlemania 17 was amazing, and the invasion angle was good when it first started

2002 was a great year for Smackdown. Paul Heyman was the head writer and Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle were putting on great matches every night.

No doubt the WWF was at it's peak from 1997-2003. 2003 is when I feel it really started to decline.

After Vince bought WCW, he could've had the biggest angle ever with the old WCW guys vs. the WWE. But his ego was too big, and he buried guys like DDP, instead of building them up. Anyone remember Undertakers wife beating DDP in a match?

might be an age thing then...still think of the This is your Life with the Rock and Mankind being one of the last truly great Raws. I was into the invasion angle for about 2 weeks when it was apparent it was just going to blow. I guess this has a lot to do with the fact that I've always thought edge and christian were nowhere near the talent of the previous group and it was them and they emerged at this time.

And I maintain that ECW was not even remotely as good the minute wwf bought it. I hear a lot of people proclaim their favorite ecw moments and they seem to be once it was under the wwf umbrella. ECW was best in the mid 90s when it was on cable access at like 11 or midnight...anyone who disagrees is too young to remember...now I feel like PJ.

Yeah they gave DDP that stupid "stalker" angle.
Most of the big WCW guys had their contracts through AOL/Time Warner and not WCW (which were guaranteed of course). They made more money sitting at home for a year than if they had wrestled.

Well remember that when the NOD started in 97, they had 2 white rapper dudes.
