In Susan's defense, one thing that I think the detectives took and ran with was when she said how the kids were saying they were gonna get their mom and she was lke, "Yeah, get your mom, whatever." She didn't actually SAY that, but that's what she was thinking to herself. The detectives treated it like she had actually told the kids that and used it against her. They also ignored her claim that there were times in the past when she called and no one responded.

Not sure why that matters.

How do you know they ignored it? Just because they didnt do anything about it?
She also said she was a doctor, raped, assaulted, and all sorts of other claims she could not back up when they asked. Im sure it was pretty easy for them to check call logs and see if/when she did call and if/when they didnt respond.
At some point cops and even the judge/jury have to determine how credible she is, and from just the body cam footage she sure seemed to stretch the truth a lot.

Are you serious? Did you not realize that the entire documentary was shown off actual body cam footage? They story was told in a very untraditional way and was a pretty rare instance where you could get all the info, cops interviews with neighbors, months worth of interactions with the killer and the victim all on dashcam.
You think that's the only case ever caught on bodycam? What a crazy coincidence.

The end basically shite on the stand your ground law saying it is disproportionately used by whites against blacks
Well yeah, blacks are statistically far more likely to commit a crime against a white person than vice versa
Also if she really wanted to shoot her why not leave door unlocked, let her walk in, then shoot her?

I understand that, but that provided her possible reasoning for firing so quickly. She must've had a shitty attorney. There were some obvious flaws during their interrogation.

It was absolutely manslaughter.
However 25 years seemed excessive to me when all witnesses agreed she was yelling and banging on her door

No damage to the door, no way for a woman to break down a metal deadbolted door. If she breaks down the door or through the glass, stand your ground applies.
It's clear this woman shot with the intention of trying to use that defense.

I watched this last night and man, it was powerful. I legit broke down when the mom was killed. I can't imagine a child having to experience that.

I actually didn't have any thoughts about this being a Netflix documentary and their usual biased bullshite when I first started watching this, but I wasn't deep into it when it was clear why they would cherry pick a story like this one.
First off, the lot her apartment was on signed private property, people need to stay the frick off. It really doesn't matter how annoying that may be, or the owner/renter may be. It’s signed "private property/no trespassing", stay the frick off, and keep your annoying kids off. End of story. What little video they showed that the woman had taken was blurry, up-side-down, and made to not show you what it was. This is one purpose by the films producer to be completely biased. This was a crotchety old lady who didn't want kids on the property she was renting, she has every right to enforce that, and should expect the police to uphold that. At least two of the cops said the property wasn't hers because she was renting it, which is complete bullshite, by proxy she is leasing the property, and it is indeed hers. Lastly, the woman who was shot should not have been beating on her door since the property was private and had signs that said no trespassing. She would have never been shot otherwise. The woman should have not shot her through the door, she is paying the price for it. The gate issue was stupid, and it was an attempt to form more bias against her. It was completely irrelevant to the story, and a pathetic insert from the filmmaker.
Its comical how many people eat up this propagandist excrement at face value.

woman is lying again.
in this interview she says she called the police, hung up and then went use the bathroom. Then she comes out and hears the banging and has an exchange with the mom. Then she has to go back to the bedroom and get the gun, then shoots through the door.
We already know after she hung up with the cops, it took 2 minutes until the shot was fired. I seriously doubt all of that happened in 2 minutes.
now she claims she aimed at the top left corner when she shot, as a warning shot.

She, nor her landlord, owned the vacant lot where the kids played.
The issue wasn't with kids entering her little back porch where she had her "no trespassing" signs, it was with them playing in the vacant lot.

A portion of that vacant lot was hers, they only showed the signs marking that about 15 times in the documentary.

sure, like 3 feet of it from here back patio area.
Are you looking forward to hollering at some kids when they get back from school today as they touch a few blades of your grass next to the street walking back to their house?

They werent and the police did. The property she rented only had a small portion of that lot. That was addressed multiple times. Even in one of the body cam footages you can clearly see the kids playing to the far right of the property.
