Everyone is taking what humans said and even the robot said as fact. But the movie reveals at the very end that Cooper is the ghost and that the wormhole opened due to a black hole. All this talk of 5th deminsional beings lacks evidence.

Think about it this way, how difficult would it be for you to communicate with a 2 dimensional being? Let's say they exist on a piece of paper. You couldn't write out a word to them because they can't get out in front of the piece of paper to read it. Now what about a 1 dimensional being? Impossible.
The thing that I don't like about this explanation is that it assumes that this is the natural order of evolution. In a sense, that these things go beyond understanding and observation, but that something changes in our physiology to allow manipulation.
Some theories suggest that time is simply a trick played on our nervous system. To some degree I understand this. However, at this point we have yet to conceive a way to truly manipulate it.
I like the idea of infinite possibilities, but then it makes me sad that perhaps I am in the one possibility where I live out an average mediocre life.

Just saw it, probably better than 2001.
Anne Hathaway is gorgeous.
Great movie in a cesspool of shitty cinema. I'm sure you all saw the trailer for the new F&F.

The fast and furious trailer I honestly thought was a joke at first but the production value was too high

Based on the probability, there are infinite numbers of you living in all ranges...in other words, you aren't the only mediocre you.

I haven't read through the entire thread so I don't know if this has been touched on yet, but I just want to say that the scene where Cooper had to manually dock with Endurance was one of the most thrilling/suspenseful/badass scenes I've ever seen.
I honestly had to straighten myself and think "holy frick" after that happened.
BTW, the Interstellar soundtrack is amazing. Been listening to it at work since yesterday.

Is it possible to like both Interstellar and F&F movies? Maybe I'm too much of a snob, but I can't believe there's 7 of those things.

I can't wait. Fast and Furious is one of the most entertaining franchises of all time

The more I have been thinking about this movie, the more I believe that there was some divine being at work rather than highly evolved humans from the future. There were A LOT of religious undertones in this movie. From the talks of Dr. Brand and his daughter concerning faith and love, to Hans Zimmer's church organs, to Dr. Mann's comments about how Peter denied Jesus before he himself betrayed Cooper.
My theory is that it was God who opened the worm hole for the dying human race, that it was God who allowed Cooper to survive his fall through the black hole, and that it was God who allowed Cooper to interact with the past inside the tesseract.
