Goku is supposed to sound like a girl. He's basically a small child in an adult's body after his accident.
It does annoy me that older Gohan has the same voice though.

Well, I watched that new episode of kai with subs. I guess I'll watch all the new kai episodes with subs as a trial run. So far I haven't seen a huge difference in actual content between subs and dubs, but I'll see.
I pretty much always prefer subs over dubs with other anime or foreign films. To be honest the only reason that I stick with the dubs with DBZ is nostalgia. That's what I grew up watching. I think that the dubs are a lot better done than a lot of stuff out there also.

It also has another new composer for the music. I wish they'd just use the classic Kikuchi score.
