I'm done with this show. I had high hopes and was really anticipating it due to The West Wing being my favorite show of all time. TWW was fair. Showed both sides and poked fun at both sides. The newsroom is so completely one sided. There is no effort anywhere in this show to show the other side. The news show operates under the pretense that they operate under facts. Apparently to Sorkin facts only exist on the left. And the issues they cover are complete straw man stories picked to make right look like idiots. I'm a huge Sorkin fan but he fricked this one up bad because this could have been a great show.

Here's a question. Does anyone not think the Tea Party and its role in the 2010 elections was a huge story? Really? It [i]was a huge story. And, whether you're right wing or left wing, the unfortunate fact is that it resulted in a few nincompoops being elected regardless of its noble intentions. How could the show ignore it?
And what precisely was unfair about the "gun episode"? How was the episode about the absolute bullshite being spouted about the cost of the Obama trip unfair or one sided? Does anyone actually believe Michelle Bachman isn't an embarrassment? Really, I'd like to know. So a fifty minute or so television show has to painstakingly devote equal time to each side?

Like I said about the gun episode, I didn't mind them making fox news look stupid for the gun stuff or the India trip. But when Will started lecturing the chick about her gun I just got annoyed because now you're getting preachy.
I also think this show would be better if it were a little more real, give us an inside look on the kind of stuff that really goes down. Not this group of revolutionaries who are the only honest people in the business and are in it purely for their love of news.

It's not even really about the issues themselves, while they set them up in a way the knock them down easily, it has more to do with the way in which they gather their jn formation and pursue it. If you watch the way they prepare for their newscasts is in a completely liberal mindset. They look for sources and news that it their agenda and Sorkin picks and chooses the one's he wants to exploit at the moment. It's manipulative and weak. It's not even good tv. The characters are unlikable and the dialogue just seems forced. And I LOVE The West Wing.

Truth be told, I was out of the room for that particular scene, so I don't know what he said or if it was badly written. But I assure you that it's not at all unusual for Republicans in the Northeast to have views on guns and gun control that differ from the party's right wing.

They overdo that aspect,no doubt. And as I said earlier, the younger characters are badly written for the most part. That's too bad because those actors are capable of more.

I'm not sure I entirely agree, although the characters are certainly more consistently "liberal" than people in the South of Plains states, for example. I think the stories they choose to report are convenient for dramatic purposes with regard to the show itself. It's easier to draw a line and put people on either side. And, naturally, it will tend to favor perhaps the "liberal" view. See, I actually don't agree with much of that characterization for reasons we don't need to get into here (we're drifting dangerously close to the PoliBoard as it is

Olivia Munn story line tonight was fine television.
She either really speaks Japanese, or is a damn good actress.

This show makes me thinks of a Bill O'Reilly type arguing for the other side. Its funny that many on the left despise the guy, yet when someone on the left writes their vision of a real news guy it reminds so much of Bill O'Reilly it's creepy.
Either way the show is well produced and written well. Even though I disagree with a lot of the political views of the show I still enjoy watching it.

Man, I hate Daniels' character.

Munn's mother is Chinese or Japanese I believe. She was raised in Tokyo. So she likely speaks it.

this statement right here tells me you are overly sensitive about the left/right dynamic and likely actively look for otherwise innocuous shite to get upset about
please expound further on how they news-gathering process shown on the show is done "in a completely liberal mindset"

and btw, I thought tonight's episode was the weakest of the season and basically just filler
is next week's OBL episode the season finale?

They don't lean right because most of the people whom lean right, are mouth breathing idiots who need to swallow a bullet.

Oh come on. People are stupid, no matter their political leaning.
The real threat to America is the fact that people want to label themselves republican or democrat instead of attempting to create their own identity.

My only real problem with this show is that every character knows EVERYTHING. Oh thats the geometric symbol for incongruent, oh that person was a french actress from the 1900s, no that play is ____ you were thinking of _____. I mean i am a trivia buff and pride my self on knowing a wide range of topics but these people would all have to be Mensa.
