Really hope this doesn't become a GOP-bashing show like it was tonight.
I was going to come on here to post an inb4 on this one, but you beat me to it.
I'm sure it's going to have episodes where it leans one way or another based on what they're covering on the show. And it seemed more Tea Party bashing then GOP bashing. At least that's how it came off to me.
That said, tonight was a pretty good episode. Slow the dialogue down a bit as well. IMO the reviews seemed pretty off in that the show declined significantly after the 1st episode.

Thought the first two episodes were better. I'm gonna watch this season but I'm not sold on it

It's just that if the plot of the show concerns a news program being absolutely true and putting everything in context, then I'm not buying it when they dedicate their program to going after the Tea Party. I'm no Tea Party member but it's not like they were voted in over a bunch of country-first Democrats who were leading us to prosperity. There were assholes on both sides.

Good point. Those were my thoughts as well.

Did you not pay attention to the show? The point they were making was that the tea party folks were defeating even the most conservative republicans in their primaries based on radical notions/principals.
They never once said that Democrats should have won.

Without turning this into a political discussion, I just watched it and kept finding myself shaking my head, saying "Well that's a lie."
When he claims Bennett was the most conservative Senator in the Senate, that's just ridiculous. But they establish that to set up the premise of the entire episode.
I recognize "creative license," and to some degree I understand manipulating what actually happened, under the guise of "entertainment" and fiction.
But to do so in a way that can be easily, and probably purposefully, (mis)interpreted as fact (i.e. passing this all of as if it's actual newscast), it's pretty obvious a slant exists and it's a pretty far stretch of said creative license. After all, Dan Rather stated that this episode is something "Every American should see and ponder."

That's what I drew from it as well. I guess you can construe that as liberal, but not I don't see it pinned as Democrat either.
I also don't think one liberal episode will necessarily dictate the show as a whole as liberal. Even though I don't think it's a stretch to say that it will probably have a more liberal spin because it's creator is liberal. Personally, I don't have a problem with that because it's just a show but I understand if others do.

FTR, I have issue with the girl who sat on hold while Maggie and Jim played footsy on the balcony. My arse would've hung up 10 minutes before that.

Maggie's rack is very nice but she was very meh before this role.

They made the Election Night of 2010 look like a bunch of hayseeds were taking over our government. Those Republican hayseeds won over Democratic douchebags. They had Waterson's character make a small eulogy for a Ohio Democrat who went down. They weren't exactly thrilled about the results.
This show could be a great one and I loved the first two episodes.....just go after both sides when they say they're going to treat the show like a courtroom.

This show is hot garbage. They will continue to revise history for the rest of the season. Afterall, they know their real life political party is in trouble come November.

I knew people here would come and say that "THIS IS A LIBERAL SHOW" and all that jazz. I didn't really see it that way. I kind of saw it as them claiming that the Tea Party is bad for solid Republican values.

this is all you need to know from a political end...
One of the jackasses in the newsroom is talking about how the AMERICAN PEOPLE elected the most radical congress in history.
I guess the radical congress before the 2010 elections was given a pass. You might remember that congress who passed healthcare in different parts. They even passed one part on Christmas Eve. I guess the wonderful lawmakers had nothing to hide.
Oh and let us not forget the Speaker of the House telling the American people that we need to pass the bill to "see what's in it."
This show is liberal horseshite.

And they may, remember this show has to follow some kind of timeline. I will with hold judgement in order to watch a couple of other shows and see if they go after the Democrats.
