But, that takes place about 20 years after this episode. Its hard to imagine that Grogu is not a fully trained Jedi knight by this time.

He is already 50 and still a baby. He will be Youngling at best

There has got to be a way forward where the sequel trilogy is not canon. It cannot stand. But how do they accomplish that?

Put them in the Disney vault next to South of the South and never speak of them again.

He’ll have to go under some type of rapid maturing period as Yoda was training Jedi at 100.

Absolutely LOL @ a hallway lineup of droids being unable to hit a target from 10 ft away. Like, he barely deflected blaster bolts, most of them were wild shots. It’s like they were programmed to shoot like stormtroopers

Yea, I would have loved to see all of those droids start to levitate, crushed into balls, and then the door opens and Luke just walks by the wreckage.

He didn't do a damn thing in the original series....nothing. There's no disputing that either even though I've had the argument many many times.

I'd be happy to crush you in that argument.

Boba Fett tracked down Han and the Millennium Falcon after they evaded the Empire and no one else could find them. Vader also clearly respected him, while simultaneously murdering his senior officers for disappointing him. In the context of ESB, if I knew nothing else, that would be enough to know Fett was a bad arse.

I mean, have you even watched the OT?

I was so excited to see badass Jedi Knight Luke motherfricking Skywalker, but I squealed like a little girl when R2 came around the corner.

I don't think we'd be seeing references to the First Order and cloning Palpatine of they were planning to get rid of the prequels.

Best we can hope for is the soft retcon mentioned earlier. Either the World Between Worlds comes in or Luke or someone has a vision and they try to stop it from happening. I'd be fine with either.

You ain't the only one... that was brutally beautiful

Seriously though, if F&F dont have the keys to all future Star Wars concepts moving forward, then Lucasfilm is making a gigantic mistake

We all knew after last season that these 2 guys (and their directors) hit the nail on the head better than anybody else, but this 2nd season, and especially after this last episode, shows that this team deserves the keys to the kingdom

My god, what an episode!!!

As much as people like to mention it, the World Between Worlds has never been shown to change anything about the timeline.

Even in the Rebels episode, where Ezra aids her, Ahsoka never died to begin with. Its like a loop, it always happened.

All claims of it changing the past seem to come from Palpatine himself, who has not been able to access it. He used the idea of saving Kanan and saving Ezra’s parents as a way to try to lure him into giving him access to it in some way. And perhaps with Dark Side alchemy and Sith secrets there could be a way to manipulate it to actually tear through time, but we don’t know.

It does still have immense power in being able to see the future and past. But also as a method of travel between focal high Force energy focal points throughout the Galaxy.

They are not going to retcon the sequels, it would be too much of a headache.

What they may do, and seemingly are starting to do now, is let the TV shows provide better context for the sequels so that they don't look AS bad.

Sort of like what Clone Wars did for the prequels.

I'll be bold enough to say that the dude who introduced it can do pretty much whatever he wants with it.

He could if he were allowed to.
But all this talk is a pipe dream, and its not happening.

What exactly do you think he's not allowed to do?

You have to look at it through the lens of the only other of this species that we know, Yoda. We know that Yoda was a Jedi Master training other Jedi by the time he was 100. Grogu at the time of the academy destruction will be just over 70. If we can assume that Yoda and Grogu matured at the same rate, then the speed of maturation has to jump exponentially from 50-100.

To overwrite current canon material with time travel?

He isn’t in charge of Lucasfilm, he can’t run any story he wants.

Obviously some folks here can’t deal with the reality that the Sequels are staying. As much as we’d like them to not have happened, they aren’t going to “erase” them.
